The instructions say to plug the “work clamp” into the positive terminal, but neither terminal is marked whether it is positive or negative. My assumption is the positive terminal is the terminal on the left when facing the machine, but that’s aN educated guess since they aren’t marked. The little symbols are confusing as they show a clamp on the right side, that would typically mean “ground” so that’s why I assume the positive is on the left. But like you I initially plugged the clamp into that side. To address the tungsten burn back, that could be many things. Gas flow incorrect, incorrect shield, dirty or contaminated tungsten. Incorrect amperage, tip too close to material being welded. Look up Mister TIG on YouTube, there are a lot of videos to help you trouble shoot your problem. **Q: Will it weld aluminum** A: Your better off getting their mig or tig machines made for aluminum welding.
