I got this new leather leash to take care of my cousin's large pittie instead of using the usual retractable one he normally has. The pooch goes nuts when meeting other dogs and this leash held tough while allowing me more control than I'd had with the retractable one.It didn't stain my hands which was a worry after reading some leather leash reviews, and felt soft yet strong in my hands.I found this size (8 ft) a little long for him since he isn't used to being under someone's control on walks and was more unruly the longer I let it out. It's also easier to herd a large dog with a shorter length, at least for me. I needed to loop it in my left hand while also holding it in my right which felt natural and helped reign him in.I need more practice with the pup, but I liked everything about this leash after using it for three days. I'm an older female who hasn't been in the gym since the start of the pandemic so I'm not as strong as I was last March, but felt this leash gave me back some much needed control.

I always use leather leads for my dogs with the intention of having them for many years. After my last one wore out I purchased this, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Nice quality leather, feels good in my hand. Sturdy stitching. Nice color. Sturdy clasp. I would recommend this and I'm purchasing the second one for backup.

this is a nice, long leish. seems to be well built and they shipped quickly. My only reason for less than 5 stars all around is that it has a lot of stretch in it. I am walking a beagle who of course is busy on the 'hunt' for the illusive 'wabbits' we have. I was a little surprised and concerned at how much this leish stretches. I will probably look for a different one that is made of a thicker leather that does not have the feel of a rubber band. If you have a dog that heals beautifully at your side while you walk, you will like this item.

Absolutely love this leash. I have three 45-80lb dogs who I walk 6-10 miles a day in snow, ice, sun and rain. This leash has held up in water, dragged around boulders and through brush. Absolutely incredible value. Just bought my second to replace yet another frayed webbing leash.

I wish it was 2" longer so I could wrap it around my waist when we run...or I could just lose 2" in my waist!I put a ring through the braided part to carry poopy bag holder/keys or to loop it around me for off-leash time.

This leash is made so well. I’m able to control my 92lb pup with this lead with zero concerns of quality or craftsmanship. I wouldn’t ever consider calling a leather lead chew proof but just in case we are considering getting another one soon. We are very pleased with this purchase.

I'm pretty picky about my leashes and has low expectations based on the price. But I was pleasantly surprised. The leather is nice quality and the clip is brass and appears durable

Poor quality period. Have 50# dog and maybe a dozen or so walks when I noticed this just in time before crossing a busy street. Could have completely separated and obvious disaster. Returning just in time for refund. I repeat, DO NOT BUY!!
