5 Gallon Oak Barrel, Wooden Whiskey Barrel & Wine Barrel, 20 Liter

I bought 3 different 1gallon barrels to start aging sweet corn spirits. After 3 months and tasing every week, this barrel was superior to the others at 2 months and 3 weeks. The others peaked at 2 months and 2 weeks to a decent bourbon then went harsh at 3 months. This barrel at 3 months was phenomenal, smooth Carmel, slight smoke taste. The best bourbon I’ve ever had and the same for everyone that tasted it. On the second use for whiskey, I had the same results with this barrel and the other 2 never had a smooth taste. This barrel was not as good looking at all and didn’t come with a stand or spigot and was a few bucks more but well worth it. This is the only barrel I will buy from now on. It will have a few leaks at first but the end result is second to none.

It is solid and a great purchase with a good value. I like to oak age mead and also have a 5 gallon charred oak barrel. Mostly I make 10-30 or so gallons at a time, so 1 gallon was too small for the big projects. I don't use it as much, but when I do I like it. It produces the results you'd expect. I use it for my test runs which are usually smaller.

This 5 gallon barrel is beautiful. Filled with water and was all sealed up within 30 minutes. Filled with moonshine a few days later and no leaks. I love that there is no spigot because to me thats just one more spot to leak. If flavor quality is as good as build quality I will be buying more of these!

The 2.5 Gallon Oak Barrel is great and an excellent value for the money. It’s important to follow the seasoning steps—filling it with hot water and letting the wood expand for a couple of days to seal — before using otherwise you will have leakage. I aged my brandy in it, and the results were fantastic. Very pleased with this purchase!

I got this a few months ago and I finally have a beverage I wanted to age in it, so I followed the instructions and added warm filtered water to soak the barrel a week and a half ago. So far, it’s leaked over 2 quarts, and is still leaking with no signs of stopping. WILL NOT BUY AGAIN. Poor quality.

This is my first barrel and I love it. As a prime member I received it in 2 days. It was warped it plastic for protection and packed well in the box. Absolutely no defects at all. I boiled water and filled it . Has been several hours and I don’t see one spot of leakage.

Im giving this 5 stars for its overall construction. The only disadvantage was the size of the bung hole. I redrilled to a bigger size for our applications.
