When I used just one on my cats ear I did not smell anything. If I take the lid off the jar and sniff the jar I can smell a slight scent of mostly alcohol and a hint of coconut, my husband says he smells nothing. I hope this helps. Oh, and they work wonderfully. I used one on each ear on my kitty and it cleaned her ears completely, now I need to do my Great Pyrenees that I think will take more than one on each ear. I would recommend these to anyone who needs to clean the OUTSIDE of the fur babies ear. To clean deeper use the ear cleaner that your Vet recommends.
