Eberlestock Bando Bag - Tactical Men's Fanny Pack w/Adjustable Waist Belt, Zippered Pockets, Compact Lightweight Belt Bag

My first concern was the buckles, when I pulled it out of the package, boy was I glad to see good quality buckles! Overall the materials seem sturdy and it feels well made and the brown looks fire! It had plenty of room for my freedom seed dispenser, and the essential med gear along with a couple other EDC items. This is my first Eberlestock item, and I can see the future, there will be more!

I know most people are here buying this for a CCW but I bought this product with the sole purpose of carrying my action camera equipment and a few other EDC items like my wallet and battery bank while riding my not, since storage is minimum on my bike. Mind you I’m using the XL variant Pros: - I ride a yzf-r6r and this a a great solution for carrying all my essentials while I’m doing mountain runs. - Plenty of room, while NOT looking excessively big on your body to the point where it’s awkward looking. extremely comfortable and easy to adjust on the fly, and my favorite part is how the straps aren’t just dangling around like most other bags. - There’s plenty of compartments so you can keep your essentials separated. Id say the bag over all is extremely well built. - I did get the all black color and I love how this bag looks as well, very sleek and a bit of a tactical look to it. Cons: - The only problem I have with this bag is I wish the zippers were higher quality like “YKK” zippers or of a sort. I’d happily pay more money for smoother and much more reliable zippers. - Not to say these zippers are bad but they seem functional with average build quality. Conclusion: - I was extremely happy with my purchase to the point where I legit went out my way to review this. - Mind you my main focus is a storage solution to carry my action camera equipment and EDC items while going fast on a motorcycle.

EDIT APRIL 2026: Still love this bag a year and a half later, and carry it every day, but wanted to flag something for readers. I have carried two handguns in this bag (Kel-Tec p32 and S&W bodyguard 2.0) that all occasionally gave me the same problem: while in the bag, the magazine release somehow got depressed, half ejecting the magazine. This is obviously a big problem, but I think it is all issue that all bags like this are susceptible to, not just this one. It's also yet another example of how paddle mag releases are better than push button...but I digress. For now I carry a snubnose .38 revolver in the pistol pouch, which works fine. I carry even more stuff in the other pockets than I did at the time of the review below--I've added eye drops, cash, my keys, a flashlight, a tiny thing of hand sanitizer, and a few more small things. It remains incredibly useful. Just be very careful about the magazine ejection issue. ......................... I didn't want to buy this bag originally because I felt it was unnecessarily expensive, but after buying a cheaper one and being unsatisfied with it, I figured I'd give it a shot. Glad I did. It is very high quality and rugged. I went with the smaller (non-XL) version. It holds everything I need-- .32 ACP Keltec P32 in the pistol pocket; pepper gel, 12" collapsible baton, and tourniquet in the middle pocket; two doses of narcan in the front pocket. I could fit more stuff in the middle pocket if I wanted to, like money or a small wallet. I will say that the pistol pocket on the non-XL version is pretty small. I think you could fit a Shield, EC9, P238, Bodyguard/Bodyguard 2.0, Tomcat, or something similar sized in there, but probably nothing too much larger. Basically anything that could conceivably be called a pocket pistol, even in the larger side of that category, would work. I don't think I could fit my G19 in this, but I haven't tried. There's some discussion about using this bag as an over-the-shoulder sling bag vs fanny pack. I'm a relatively slim guy (5'10 165), and by extending the included belt as far as it would go, I can fairly easily use this as a sling bag. That's how I usually carry it, as I think it's actually less conspicuous (based on where I live and how I look, anyway) than a fanny pack. If you're a big fella or lady, though, it probably isn't going to work, and you may have to get some kind of extension.

I’ve been using the Eberlestock Bando Bag, a tactical men’s fanny pack, for about six months during hikes and range trips, and it’s a practical, well-built option for carrying essentials. Made from 420D Cordura nylon, it’s tough enough to handle rough trails and range environments, resisting scuffs and light rain while staying lightweight at just under a pound. The main compartment easily fits my phone, keys, wallet, and a small first-aid kit, with a mesh zippered pocket and two slip pockets keeping things organized. The front zippered pocket is perfect for smaller items like cords or a multitool, and the adjustable waist belt (31.5” to 44”) is comfortable for long wear, whether around the waist or slung crossbody. The full-zip back pocket (5.25”H x 9.25”W x 3”D) securely holds my Glock 19 with a trigger guard, and the integrated tourniquet sleeve under the main flap is a smart addition for emergencies. At around $50-$70, it’s a solid value for its durability and versatility. That said, it’s not perfect. The tactical look, even in muted colors like coyote brown or grey, might stand out in urban settings, as some Amazon reviews note, and it’s not as sleek as minimalist fanny packs. The included elastic band for the CCW pocket is flimsy—most users, including myself, swap it for a Velcro-backed holster or 3M adhesive Velcro for better firearm retention, as discussed on Reddit. The zipper quality is hit-or-miss; mine’s held up, but some reviewers report sticky or less durable zippers after heavy use. It can also feel cramped if you overload it with bulkier items like a water bottle alongside a firearm. For general hiking and range use, it’s a reliable EDC solution, but if you need more space or a less tactical vibe, the Bando XL or a non-CCW-focused pack might be worth considering.

This is a good quality lightweight bag. I'm glad I got the XL size. I can easily carry a Glock 19 and a spare magazine in the gun compartment section of the bag. The remaining compartments are large enough to carry other edc items I typically use such as my cell phone, flashlight, Leatherman tool, tourniquet, good pocket knife, tactical type pen, band aids, keys, small pill box and a few other things I often venture out with. I find this bag more comfortable to carry as a sling bag and it's easier to draw from in this configuration for me. Overall I really like this bag and am very pleased with it. I have recommended it to my friends and family who carry off body and prefer this style of pack.

High quality bag. Pockets allow for a lot of items to carry. Strap length allows for both Fanny pack style and sling style over the shoulder with an easy adjustment to switch between the two. The conceal carry pocket is very roomy. I can fit a flux raider 365 with a red dot in it. I would prefer it if they switched to a magnetic/velcro style for the cc pocket, as that would allow for a quicker deployment. For a concealed carry bag, it doesn’t look tacti-cool like other options, which is the whole point of “concealing”. Looks like a bag a dad would carry around.

The pack itself solves my issues with traditional waist packs, and that is, the main pocket holds my EDC and limits what else I can put in them. The rear pocket on the bando bag holds my p365xl with an HS 507k perfectly. The velcro elastic loop can be placed anywhere in the back area to accommodate most any configuration, and expands enough to securely hold my weapon around the trigger guard. I’ve done countless practice pulls and have had zero snags. The zipper pulls and zippers work just fine, the pull loops are molded open at the top to improve ease of access. It would be nice if there was a way for the middle and front pocket zippers to be closed at either end, perhaps two zipper pulls. This would prevent accidentally grabbing the wrong loop when opening the EDC pocket. The internal pockets are nice with plenty of room for my wallet, phone, two-finger duster, keys and an elastic loop in the top flap of the middle pocket that holds my leatherman. Everything is made of high quality materials and has a premium feel/appearance without looking like a tactical attention grabber. My only complaint is the length of the waist strap, I bought the extender (also great quality) for cross body carry, but I really shouldn’t have needed to. Great EDC bag, I bought one for my son who carries a shield plus with optic. He uses it every day and is 100% satisfied.

My use is as a waist / sling pack for EDC items plus concealed carry pistol. I love the color, and I appreciate that it doesn't scream "tactical" or "CCW". The belt it easily adjustable, and I've been able to wear it as both a waist pack and cross-body sling. The bag seems to be well constructed and has held up well, but I've had it for only a short time so far. Overall, this seems to be a good value for the money. In general, I like this pack, but there are some obvious design issues wrt the CONCEALED CARRY use case - which I'll elaborate on further below. This has three zippered compartments: the rear CCW compartment, a large main EDC compartment, and a small front pocket. I like the large size of the main compartment to hold all of my primary EDC items - wallet / IDs / money, flashlight, pocket knife, keys, small pepper spray, inhaler, etc. This has an elastic holder on the top that they advertise can carry a small tourniquet (e.g. Snake Staff ETQ, which is what I carry there), but I suppose it could carry a spare pistol magazine, muti-tool, etc. The internal pockets allow meager organization. I use small EDC organizers to fit in those pockets. The small front pocket is thin & small - OK for small quick-access items that you don't want to fish for in the larger EDC compartment - e.g. keys, IDs, money, etc. The rear CCW compartment has a soft loop field on the back to which you can attach hook-backed items - e.g. holsters & magazine carriers. It comes with a small hook-backed elastic loop that can loosely hold a pistol, but there are plenty of other options available on the market. It has two loop anchor points in the bottom corners, which can be used to anchor the tether of a trigger guard shield. This compartment has a bi-directional zipper (two pulls) so you can stage the zipper pulls to the left or right side based on your left or right-handed draw needs. I have both the REGULAR Bando and this LARGE Bando. I'm 5'6" and 180lbs (short & portly). Both bags look OK against my frame - neither looks too big or small. I'm able to adjust the strap to carry either size bag as either a waist pack or cross-body sling. The REGULAR sized bag is large enough to hold my pocket pistol (S&W Bodyguard 2.0) in a hook-backed kydex holster. A larger pistol also fits, such as Sig P365XL. I didn't see a good way to also secure a spare mag in that compartment, but I'm still looking for options. This is why I then got the LARGE Bando bag. Perhaps if they had also put a loop-field on the forward side of the CCW compartment then I could mount the mag carrier there. This LARGE size is large enough to holds my pocket pistol AND a spare magazine, each in hook-backed kydex holsters. My primary complaints are about some obvious design issues wrt my concealed carry use case. 1) There is no quick open option for the CCW compartment. Many alternative products (e.g. from Vortx, 945, etc.) have a pull tab sticking out between the zippers in the center or at the corners that allow for rapid wide opening of nearly the entire compartment by pulling that single tab - without directly fumbling with the zipper pulls. This bag does not have that feature. You have to find a way to stage the zippers such that your pistol remains concealed and secure but yet you can rapidly open the compartment to get a clean draw when needed. This isn't rocket science, and there are so many other packs that have such rapid-open features, so I can't imagine why Eberlestock WILLFULLY CHOSE to omit this feature. 2) The CCW compartment has two zippers that can pull and open that zipper in either direction, allowing you to stage them on either side. But, the other two zippered compartments open in only one direction such that they MUST be on the right side when closed. I'm right-handed, so I want to draw with my right hand, so I want the CCW compartment zippers staged on the right side to open that compartment from the right corner first. So, ALL of the zipper pulls end up being on the right, and all of the zipper pulls are identical, and so it is possible that someone could fumble trying to find the right zipper to pull when in a high stress urgent defensive situation. AT LEAST the main EDC compartment SHOULD (IMHO) also have a bi-directional zipper so I can stage those zipper pulls on the opposite side of where I stage the CCW compartment zipper pulls. Again, other manufacturers have figured this out, and Eberlestock has a ton of bag design experience, so I can't imagine this was an oversight on their part, so I wonder why they WILLFULLY CHOSE to make this problematic design choice (which I consider to be a mistake). 3) This is a much smaller complaint compared to the other two noted above. I wish the CCW compartment zippers opened more fully. But, they open enough to be able to access and cleanly draw my pistol - once you decide how you want to stage those zippers. But, despite those obvious design issues for the CCW rapid access use case, I still like this bag due to the size of the EDC compartment, and not looking overtly tactical. Based on ideas I've seen from other users, I plan to make a few modifications... I plan to change the various zipper pulls to make the CCW compartment zipper pulls easier to differentiate by feel from the EDC compartment zipper pull. I plan to stitch a rapid-open tab into the CCW compartment to allow me to widely open nearly the entire CCW compartment with a single pull that is tactically unmistakable from the various zipper pulls.

Always liked Eberlestock, have a few of their packs for EDC and hunting. Figured I’d give this a whirl. In Canada, the CC really doesn’t apply, so probably turn that portion into a spot for sun glasses, but I went with the XL for the touch bigger size allowance, even though I don’t plan on fully blowing it out. Just nice to have the option to carry a bit more when needed. Durability and build quality on par with my other Eberlestock gear, which is to say it’s tough as hell and reliable. Pockets are thoughtfully designed, with internals for a tourniquet, mesh zippered pocket, sleeves, etc. Fits nice, feels comfortable and stashes away easily under a vehicle seat if you don’t want it seen.

i loved it,the qualitty,coulour,the straps and pockets,the problem was that i didn t know it s made to carry a gun,the reason i had to return it and get also a bigger one for my rog ally. still,it s and amazing fanny pack
