If you're wanting to try a unique Japanese product in your home, give the Nawrap Binchotan Dishcloths a try. These dishcloths have been infused with binchotan (Japanese oak) charcoal. The dishcloths have 6 layers of material for extra absorbency and durability. During production, a temporary starch coating is applied to prevent the multiple layers of material from shifting. Because of this, the dishcloths are initially a bit stiff/crispy, but as you continue to use them, they will get very soft. To speed up the softening process, soak in boiling water a few times. The dishcloths are washing machine safe, but color will slightly fade and dishcloth will shrink by about 10 to 15% after first wash. Please do not use with bleach, or place in the dryer. Made up of 82% rayon and 18% cotton. Please note, one dishcloth is included - one side is charcoal gray and the other side is colored coral.

Well worth it!
I’ve only been using this for a couple days but I’m super impressed. I’m looking forward to not buying sponges and throwing them away every so often. Also, you really don’t have to put a lot of dish soap on this cloth to get a good lather.

Color is not true; lighter in color even without washing yet
The dish cloth is nice and it does soften with warm water. The color is not true to the photograph. It arrived as a light coral color, not like the dark rich color in the photo. It said that it could fade with wash, but it was already a light color upon arrival. Would have chosen a more neutral color if I had known, since I only bought it for the color shown. Hopefully, it’s useful at least.
