Baby Hand and Footprint Kit, Personalized Baby Christmas Ornament (with Love)

Quality is very good. The clay is very thick - I didn't subtract any clay, so the ornament is heavy given that it's very sturdy and durable, but it works for our artificial tree. There is also two small plastic stands and you can present the ornaments this way as standing decor versus tree decor, a few nice options. I think I'll put it out on the stands after the Christmas tree goes. It was easy to make overall, but I had a hard time rolling over the surface to make it smooth - there are quite a few imperfections or tiny cracks around the hand or foot print ( I think my house was dry and dried it out quickly), but the prints came out really nice! I would do the hand/foot print first and then find a space to stamp the name/date - I did the stamp first and it got squished, so just do the print first, then stamp like I did for the second ornament. There are materials for 2 ornaments in this kit. Fun and cute, love the gold touch you can do. I'm glad I did this now when baby is 4 months because baby hand/foot will not fit in the circle ornament in a few months!

We absolutely loved this kit! It was easy to use, and now we have such a special keepsake from when our daughter was little. I especially appreciated that it included the letters and numbers so we could personalize it with her name and birth year. Getting a baby’s handprint is definitely the hardest part (our footprint turned out much better!), but that’s more about babies than the kit itself. The clay was soft, easy to work with, and captured the details really well. Once it dried, it looked beautiful and has become something we’ll treasure for years. If you’re looking for a simple way to preserve those tiny hands and feet, I highly recommend this kit.

I bought two sets of these to make with my niece and nephew’s for their parents’ birthdays. I made one with my niece (4 years old) a few days ago. It was a tad bit messy, but nothing out of the ordinary for this sort of craft. It turned out wonderfully. A suggestion for anyone who decides to order this: The instructions tell you to make a hole in the clay with the straw, then use the letter holder to stamp in the words, then finally press the child’s hand/foot on the clay to make an impression. This did not work particularly well for me. It’s entirely likely that this is due to the size of the child’s hand. This kit is suggested for babies, but as it is large enough I chose to buy it for a 2 and 4-year-old. What worked best in my case was to firmly press the child’s hand/foot on the clay to make an impression, then stamp in the words, then finally use the straw to make a hole near the top. Otherwise the hole and words would become distorted when making the hand/foot impression. The end result was perfect and I’m considering buying paint or glaze to give the ornament a glossy finish. I chose to glue the bow onto the front of the ornament rather than loop it through the top as I felt it looked nicer.

So this kit has the potential to be great if you change a few things! Cut the clay into 4 pieces instead of 2, and make 4 thinner ornaments instead of 2 massive ones that likely won’t hang well on your tree. If you roll out 1/4th of the dough like a cookie and then put the mold on top like a cutter, place your child’s hand into it and stamp the letters and number in, then cut it into a circle with the mold, then it will come out great! The letters and numbers are also a bit difficult to cut out, but you just have to work at it with some scissors. Also- make sure to do this before your baby is too old (under a year for sure) or else their hand likely won’t fit very well to still have their name and a hold to hang the ornament.

This was such a fun craft to do with my husband, for our first baby. It’s very easy to use, but it does take a long time to dry. Make sure and put it away somewhere and leave it alone for several days. I ended up purchasing it again for a friend of mine. The end result is something that we’ll cherish forever.

Simple to do, but this company does these types of crafts as cheap as they can. I’ve had issues with their inkless hand and footprint kit too, though they do ship replacements for free so that was nice. With this kit, they do not include enough clay to fill the mold so the roller doesn’t even smooth out the clay because it can’t fit inside the mold. The clay cracked on the sides and around the lettering imprints even though I followed the directions and kneaded it first. Some of the paint even dried out before I opened the package. It was easy enough to do, my final product was not perfect but oh well. Would not order again though.

a perfect keepsake for my little baby. i’ll hang it on my tree every year, or even year round because it’s so cute. it took a long time to fully dry so once you do their prints, just leave it out on a counter or somewhere it won’t be disturbed. i feel like if it gets dropped, it will break, so i’ll always be really careful with it.

These ornaments are so stinking cute! They come with everything you’ll need from the ornament it’s self to paint and letter impressions. The clay is a super durable and thick material so you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged. It’s super easy to use with very clear instructions. Cannot go wrong with this purchase!

The tools that are enclosed (plastic letters etc) are quite fiddly, and it doesn't leave quite a distinct print like you would see in the display but it was a fun keepsake to make with my little one.

Don‘T get discouraged by reviews saying the product is dried out. - when you first take the clay out of the package it’s dry and hard, but if you read the instructions it says you have to knead the clay- this step is crucial! The longer you knead the softer and more pliable it gets. I kneaded the clay for about 10 minutes and after that, it was so soft and easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend this. They turned out super cute and don’t even need to be painted.
