I made one with my niece (4 years old) a few days ago. It was a tad bit messy, but nothing out of the ordinary for this sort of craft. It turned out wonderfully. A suggestion for anyone who decides to order this: The instructions tell you to make a hole in the clay with the straw, then use the letter holder to stamp in the words, then finally press the child’s hand/foot on the clay to make an impression. This did not work particularly well for me. It’s entirely likely that this is due to the size of the child’s hand. This kit is suggested for babies, but as it is large enough I chose to buy it for a 2 and 4-year-old. What worked best in my case was to firmly press the child’s hand/foot on the clay to make an impression, then stamp in the words, then finally use the straw to make a hole near the top. Otherwise the hole and words would become distorted when making the hand/foot impression. The end result was perfect and I’m considering buying paint or glaze to give the ornament a glossy finish.
