Great soap making kit
If you are looking for a gift that balances "magical unicorn vibes" with genuine educational value, the Dan&Darci Unicorn Soap Making Kit is a standout choice. It transitions perfectly from a Christmas morning "wow" gift to a productive afternoon activity that keeps kids engaged for hours. Unlike some craft kits that feel flimsy or overly simplistic, this kit provides a mini-laboratory experience. Kids get to play chemist by melting down soap base, experimenting with scents, and layering colors. It is easy to use and the instructions are exceptionally clear and illustrated. While the kit is rated for ages 6+, younger children (6-8) will definitely need adult supervision for the microwave/melting phase, as the soap base gets quite hot. The molds are high-quality and produce crisp, recognizable shapes (unicorns and stars). The finished soaps look professional enough that kids actually feel proud to give them away as gifts. With multiple liquid colors and glitters included, no two soaps have to look the same. What makes Dan&Darci kits unique is their focus on science. The kit includes a learning guide that explains the chemistry of soap-making. It’s a subtle yet great way to teach.

Great craft for kids!!
The product was delivered I great condition & the kids loved the craft. Appearance was exactly as shown. Very bright colors. No missing parts. Suitable for kids 3 years old & above. Younger kids need some help, older ones can do it themselves. Easy instructions & a lot of fun. Definitely giftability.

This Unicorn Soap Kit is Magical Fun for Kids!
This Unicorn Soap Making Kit is like, the coolest thing ever for any kid who loves unicorns and getting crafty. It's like science and playtime all rolled into one! Here's the scoop on what I loved: It's totally fun: You get to mix colors, add scents, and pour the soap into molds shaped like unicorns, rainbows, and even unicorn horns! How cool is that? It's educational too: While you're having a blast making your own soap, you're also learning about things like melting, pouring, and mixing colors. Sneaky science lesson, win! It's safe for kiddos: All the ingredients are totally safe for kids to use, so you don't have to worry. Just remember, grown-ups should be around when it's time to melt the soap base because it gets hot. A couple of things to keep in mind: You'll need a grown-up to help out when it's time to melt the soap, since it gets hot. The kit only has enough stuff to make soap one time, so if you want to keep the fun going, you'll need to buy more supplies. Overall, this Unicorn Soap Making Kit is a fantastic gift for any unicorn-obsessed kid. It's a blast to use, it teaches them a little something, and the end result is super cute and fun to use! P.S. I saw this kit priced between $19.99 and $28.49, depending on where you get it. There are also some kits out there that come with extra soap base or different scents, so you can pick the one that's perfect for you!

Great girls gift!
This was awesome and easy! My daughter loved using this. There is enough ingredients to make about 5-6 molds. I didn’t have to babysit the process step by step, just heating up the cubes to melt. But this was good quality and a fun and easy experiment for my kids to do.

Not for really young kids
Definitely need an adult to help. Tried with a five year old, but would be good for older kids. Really cute soaps!

Do NOT buy this cheap, toxic soap kit
The molds and the idea is cute, but the actual kit? It is horrible. I did not want to microwave a plastic beaker, so I melted the soap cubes in a candle pot. No matter how high I put it, they kept solidifying inside the pot. When I tried pouring it into the molds, it dried in seconds and clogged it up. I had to pull the molds apart to clear the little hole. In the end, I still had to use the plastic beaker, and the molds are plastic, so the soap is probably more melted microplastics than soap. The smell is horrible. Very chemically and very sickening. The smell is so disgusting-it burns, too, and manages to get in the back of your throat, in your nose, and everywhere. It is impossible to layer the colors properly. I burnt myself trying to pour the gummy mixture. The glitter says not to put it down a drain-this is soap, isn't it, not little sculptures? I got some on my hands and it made them itch horribly and the smell stuck to my skin and made me feel sick. These are not good for children, adults, or anyone at all to use. Incredibly cheaply made. I don't think this should even stay on the market. It is incredibly toxic, frustrating, and worthless.

Fantastic
This was such a big hit with my girls (7&9). Brought it on holiday for a rainy day and it was super fun. Lots of work for the parent though and messy. You have to have the energy and patience for it. Every layer has to dry for 45 mins or so before you can add the next colour. I’d suggest leaving the rainbow for last as it’s tricker. The spout is smaller and you have to move the mold around to get the soap everywhere, it’s quite tricky and we didn’t manage more than two layers for that one. The unicorn is fantastic and easier to pour into. Great activity. Would be good to be able to buy more soap as we have dye and scents left over but are out of soap.

Fun homeschool craft kit with everything included
We bought this in October 2023 for our daughter, who was in grade 2 at the time and has been homeschooled since kindergarten. Now she’s in grade 4, and we’ve had this kit for a little over 2 years. The Dan&Darci Unicorn Soap Making Kit has been a fun and creative project that fits perfectly into homeschool activities. She liked that the kit came with everything needed to make soap—no extra supplies required—which made it easy to set up and get started. The unicorn theme was colorful and engaging, and she enjoyed mixing, pouring, and watching the soaps take shape. It’s been a great way to combine science and art, teaching her about measurements, mixing, and the process of making something useful while also expressing creativity. We’re giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because while it worked well, the soaps weren’t as long-lasting or sturdy as we hoped. The soaps tended to break into pieces after just one use, which was disappointing. That said, the molds themselves are still useful, and we continue to use them for other creative projects. We tried a few other DIY kits before, but this one stood out for being complete, easy to use, and enjoyable. 4 stars overall—fun, educational, and creative, though the soaps could be sturdier. Highly recommend for families looking for engaging homeschool craft projects that combine science and creativity. — Reviewed by Hibiscus, homeschooling mom rooted in presence Simple, honest, presence-based reviews.

So fun!
The unicorn-themed soap-making kit I got for my daughter's birthday was a total winner! She was thrilled to mix and match the vibrant colors and add sparkles to her creations. It kept her engaged for hours, and she loved the idea of making her own magical soaps. Plus, they turned out so cute! This kit not only sparked her creativity but also made for a fun, hands-on activity. Perfect for any unicorn lover looking to get crafty!

Worst product I’ve ever tried
If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas because as a kid in the 90’s I had a soap making kit that I loved. I used it by myself all the time to make so many different soaps. I figured this kit was similar, especially based off of the reviews. I opened the box to find half of one mold missing, most of the colours and scents not filled all the way, and some of the soap burned and brown, right out of the bag. Once the soap melts in the microwave, it dries extremely fast. By the time you add the colour and scents, it’s already hardened. I ended up doing it on the stove so that it couldn’t cool down. Which meant that my daughter was only able to add the colours, and scents, since it was so hot. I’m not even sure if this is real soap because it doesn’t even bubble once it’s wet… After much trial and error we were able to get one congealed mess in our half mold and one unicorn horn, that semi worked. I would never purchase again.
