I bought the Furby Tie Dye as a gift for my niece, and she absolutely loves it. From the moment she opened the box, she was fascinated by how it moves, talks, and reacts to touch. It responds when you pet it, feed it, or talk to it, and it can even “learn” new words over time. Works great granddaughter loves it

I would say this is a solid step above the last two generations. It doesn't require an app, and has no internet connectivity which for me were huge pros towards this model, I’m looking for a cute robot friend and with it continuing to call the user “bestie” it delivers. I would say it’s lacking in the immersion the 98 and 05 had in not starting off in furbish and going to English, the “teaching the furby” aspect seems lost to time and instead this furby is teaching you, songs, fun facts, and breathing exercises and affirmations. It also will tell your fortune, and do the random copycat feature. While they are cute I can see the novelty wearing off when you are talking to your furby and it always acts like you are telling it a really cool story, I could see a child telling furby they were sad or something and this furby being way too ultra positive to the point where it may even say something too happy for such a situation whereas furbish is more up to interpretation. Overall I think for the money this is a cute device, albeit very very optimistic, with none of the sassy things of the 05 or 98 version and less of the raising a creature curve and more of the “fun pet that speaks English” vibe. I think some of the lingo it says will be dated in a few years. I also think burp and fart jokes are cheap but I know I loved them as a kid so I can see the demographic. Overall a gorgeous robot friend to love so much. (Forgot to add the light show feature makes a GREAT timed nightlight for kids). Seems durable though I wouldn’t throw it down stairs or anything. High quality. VERY soft. You need to say hey furby first after pressing the heart then WAIT for the ears to turn green and the response sound before giving the command. I’ve seen a lot of YouTubers get upset not understanding that part. It also DOES dance to music when played by its microphone “twinkle toes” being one of the things I’ve heard it say while it dances and it’s ears go rainbow. I believe it also said “drop that fur beat” But not as immersive as the booms and connects were it seems. I’ve yet to test it with a buddy.

Today I am reviewing the one and only Furby in its newest iteration. I actually grew up during the time of the original Furby, which I received one Christmas in the early aughts. This modern version is sort of like the original Furby’s neon cousin. The resemblance is there despite all the differences - most notably the smaller immobile mouth and much larger ears which illuminate and animate with Furby upon its awakening. Much like the original, this version speaks “Furbish,” and comes complete with a concise “Furbish Dictionary” within the instructions manual, aptly titled “Friendship Guide.” This Furby almost immediately came to life upon the installation of 4 AA batteries. It should be noted that this Furby speaks a mix of both Furbish and English, so it’s very easy to follow along even if you’re not familiar with Furby’s native tongue. Speaking of tongues, you press the Furby’s mouth to feed it, rub the belly to tickle, and pat the patch of fur up top to pet its head. Furby does not like being ignored and will promptly fall asleep within about 1-2 minutes of inactivity. Many people complain about Furby’s not having an “Off” button, but my main gripe with this toy is that there’s no way of controlling volume. I made the mistake of testing this late at night close to an open window. Needless to say I think some of my neighbors may have heard all the fun I was having - the thing talks to you like you’re standing at the opposite side of the room. The lights are a cool feature, and its cute little feet rock it back and forth for extra expression. I had no use for Furby’s incessant singing and “dance parties” which it seems to default to upon initial activation. There are ways to bypass this, so read the manual if you want a more docile creature. All in all, a fantastic piece in Furby’s legacy.

When my daughter was little she absolutely loved furbies. Now that she's older and has her own child, I thought it would be neat to buy one for her daughter. It was great that they both enjoyed this gift together.

My grandson loved Furby the minute he opened his present. He continually plays with it, feeding it and pressing its heart to use its features. Great gift.
