Preliminary review, so far good
Okay this is a preliminary review. I just got it yesterday. I was able to take two capsules. One at one time of the day and one at the other. Between meals. Then I took one more in the evening. Because you want to take it on an empty stomach. It did not upset my stomach. I did hear my stomach moving all through the night. Off and on. Which to me was a good sign. Because usually I wake up in the morning and I'm just stuck. Like a brick. Then this morning I took two capsules, since the one three times yesterday didn't upset my stomach. You want to make sure you start slowly. But there's been so many great reviews. On this product. Course I have to see if it works for me personally, but so far even just hearing my stomach move last night. Funny thing to say, but it made me feel hopeful.

Worked for me!
First off, this product has ginger therefore some people will experience ginger burn. Those who have acid reflux are more prone to this. Drink a glass of water when you take it, and if you do struggle with acid reflux don’t lay down at least 30 minutes after taking. Just some tips I heard from a doctor on a podcast talking about pro kinetics. For more info on prokinetics, Dr. Allison Siebeker is a great choice! So I bought this and I started taking it and it seemed to do nothing for me. My RD put me on a protocol and my bowel movements were great. I thought it was the protocol, and these were doing nothing so I stopped taking them for about a week. Well that week I wasn’t having much luck with BMs, so I figured let me start taking this again. And the next day, my BMs were normal again! This worked for me. However, everyone’s body is different and there’s different prokinetics.

Definite Improvement
I had done a lot of research on supplements that might help gut motility and ease my gastroparesis symptoms. MotilPro was my choice because it had unique ingredients proven to help gut motility and was manufactured by a very reputable company. I was a little hesitant to purchase because of reviews citing "ginger burn" as an issue. However, if taken as directed, I haven't found that to be a problem. I only take one capsule at a time. If I need to take 2 at the same time, I wait 10-15 minutes between. With my gastroparesis my digestive system would occasionally seem to just "stop" for a few days. I have not had that problem since I began this supplement. Seems to keep everything moving. Very pleased. UPDATE: This definitely works. After taking this for a couple months, I took a break, thinking that maybe I didn't really need it . . . Plus it is pricey. However, within a couple weeks of being off this I started experiencing motility issues again. Of course. I reordered, and within a few days things started to imorove again. So I've decided it's definitely worth the money for me. Also, just a side note: I am taking 3 capsules first thing in the morning (about an hour before eating) along with 2 magnesium capsules. I do the same before bed. I found this to help the best for my gastroparesis. To avoid "ginger burn" start slowly and build up dose.

If you have SIBO, read this.
We've dealt with SIBO-induced constipation, leading to encopresis, leading to a flare and diagnosis of Crohn's. Miralax made things much worse (if you have SIBO, avoid it at all costs!). Magnesium works really well to soften the stool, but it doesn't do anything to move things out, so to speak. Mineral oil helped get things moving, but not enough. Senna based laxatives worked to some extent, but I was very concerned about long term use and possible cancer risk, and again, they did nothing to address the underlying cause of the problem (SIBO). We changed to a diet that supposedly works by reducing bad bacteria (SCD and/or combo of low FODMAP). The low FODMAP diet made things worse in the long run (over 2 years, it destroyed the good gut bacteria...you're supposedly only supposed to do it for 4-6 weeks, tops, but researchers didn't discover that until recently). SCD works really well, but again, it doesn't address the reduced motility that (at least in our case) likely caused the SIBO in the first place. Enter MotilPro. The 5-HTP works as a serotonin precursor (supposedly), which is similar to some of the pharmaceuticals that have been used for IBS over the years. The other stuff (mostly vitamins) helps speed things along. The ginger seems to work on some aspect of the motility receptors in the gut. Overall, this seems to really work! Unfortunately, it seems that, at therapeutic doses, it causes abdominal pain. If we do three pills (the recommended dose) it causes great motility, but pain. If we do two pills, the pain is less but I don't know if it works well enough. We tried it more than two weeks after finishing antibiotics the first time we dealt with SIBO, so it was likely too late in the game to make a difference. We're currently using it in conjunction with antibiotics this time around, so hoping there is some sort of synergistic effect and that we can drop off the dose as time goes on. Not sure. Our other options seem to be low dose naltrexone or erythromicin, per Dr. Siebecker's research (http://www.siboinfo.com/). Will update in a few months after things settle down a bit. Right now, I feel it's such a great product, hence the four stars, but in our case, the side-effects my trump the positives. Would give it a five star rating if the side effects were lower.

Gentle stomach relief
This is a great, simple, safe product. I take 1 cap 30 mins before lunch and dinner, and it really helps with my gastroparesis. The ingredients are high quality, and its a very trusted brand. The pills are easy to swallow with no taste or smell. I would recommend starting with 1 cap twice a day and working up slowly if needed. The directions on the bottle are super helpful as well.
