I had been searching for an ice shaver so I could make snow cones for my kiddos during the hot summer. But I didn’t just want any ice shaver, I wanted one that has a more snow like texture rather than finely crushed ice. This shaver fits the bill. And it’s very heavy duty. I have made snow cones all summer and I love how quickly this machine shaves the ice. I searched for over a two weeks and finally settled on this because I wanted something affordable, durable and easy to clean and this machine is all of that and more. Easy to use and not as noisy as others. Great little late night find. I highly recommended. Performs great and I think it will last quite a while.

This review is for the drum-style snow machine shown in my photos. I noticed some other reviews here appear to be for different machines. So far, this machine has performed better than expected. I mainly use it for bingsu, and for that purpose it’s been nearly perfect. The drum temperature runs around -8°F, and it also handles regular snowy ice without any issues. One recommendation: let the unit sit upright for 24 hours before turning on the compressor for the first time (same advice I’d give for any refrigerated appliance). This gives compressor oil time to settle back into place. Mine arrived laying on its side. As for performance—bingsu comes out light, airy, and you can inhale it off the spoon. Noise hasn’t been an issue at all. Before buying, I had two concerns: 1. Would 360W be enough compared with larger machines? 2. Would it hold up over time? For my use, power hasn’t been a problem at all—it easily makes desserts for the whole family. Durability is still something only time will tell, but first impressions are positive; the machine feels solid and well built. I also added a 3-year Asurion protection plan for extra peace of mind. One tip: spend some time experimenting with recipes. I accidentally discovered something interesting—adding chocolate syrup to my milk mixture changed the texture from fluffy snow into silky ribbons, which was a cool surprise. I also tried Possmei Matcha All-in-One powder with good results (see photo). Revised… it would be nice if it came with a couple recipes. This works for me for my base bingsu solution. Makes about 4.5 cups * 3 cups + 2 Tbsp milk whole * 1/4 - 3/4 cup whipping cream * 6 Tbsp sweetened condensed milk * 2 Tbsp + 2 tsp Carnation instant nonfat dry milk Chill Toppings are up to you

Very durable

This ice machine kept stopping . I ordered for memorial day weekend for the kids the machine quit all together. I have owned and operated many machines over my lifetime. This one has to be the worst . The kids and myself were disappointed.

This is my third attempt at finding a good snow cone machine, and so far, this one has been the winner. It produces a perfect, fluffy, snow-like texture with very fine ice and no ice chunks at all. The consistency is exactly what I was looking for, making delicious bingsu every time. So far, it’s been working great, and I hope it continues to perform this well for a long time.

DOES NOT CRUSH THE ICE. ONLY SHAVES THE ICE TO MAKE ICE POPSYCLES OR SORBETS

We haven’t stopped using this machine since I bought it. We can now finally make our own Bingsu (Korean Shaved Ice Dessert) and many other desserts to beat the heat. The machine is BULKY. So better have enough counter space for this machine. It’s easy to setup and easier to clean after. The blade is extremely sharp and we can produce fine flakes to straight up, “Ice Cream Teppanyaki Rolls” Would recommend to buy. 🤌
