Oral-B Glide Healthy gums, unflavored floss 50M (Pack of 6)

Like others, I've been using this product for years, after they discontinued the indestructible tape version. While the original glide floss was not a great as the tape, it was still very durable and wouldn't easily shred or break. I've been reordering from this very same listing for years, but my recent order (6-pack) of Oral-B Glide floss is completely different. First, it comes packaged in paper boxes now, probably for environmental reasons, which is fine by me. The labeling also looks different now as well, like a rebranding (see comparison photos) or an entirely different product. Worst of all, the product itself is nothing at all like my previous order. It's so thin that it's practically transparent, with about the thickness of a produce bag. It's about as durable as a produce bag as well, breaking and shredding until I had a pile of wrecked floss in my lap and all sorts of fibers stuck between my teeth. This floss, if you can even call it that, is also impossible to pull from the dispenser. I had to open the plastic dispenser and peel it off the roll like I was using scotch tape. It's a shame that I didn't inspect this order earlier when it was still within the return window. This is going into the garbage. Buyer beware!

I have used Oral-B Glide Pro-Health Original floss for years and it was great! But recently Oral-B changed the product and the product name to Oral-B Glide Healthy gums. For many this might be an improvement due to the teflon issue, but for any one that needs to "poke" floss between gums and dental work, this new floss seems terrible to me. When you extract a piece of floss for use, it curls up into small spirals instead of being flat and straight like it used to be, making it very difficult to insert between gums and any dental work. So while in the past this was a 5-star product for me, I now would rate it only 3-star, taking away one star for the way it curls up, and one star for the way they changed it without any warning. Edit: Now on my 2nd pack of 6, and this one shreds or splits even before you try to use it, possibly because it is wrapped around the spindle incorrectly so it is almost impossible to pull out a new section to floss with. Downgrading to 2 stars, and I think that is being generous! So sad the quality has degraded so much, this used to be amazing floss. Edit 2: October 2026 - downgrading to one star, which I could make it 0. More than half of my last pack of 6 could not be dispensed at all, even after opening up the case. The roll of floss could not turn on the spindle, even after my previous "fix".

This is more like the original oral -B floss and doesn’t shred with my many crowns. The newer Oral-B flosses are made of a different material more like plastic and are horrible. I was so glad to find this floss.

Like many other reviewers, I was nonplussed when my longtime regular order of the classic Glide floss arrived in a new packaging calling it "Healthy Gums". At first I assumed that it was merely a rebranding but quickly discovered that it is a new TYPE of floss, which is VERY inferior to the old version! The floss in the first package experienced the sticking-in-dispenser problem AND shredded often when actually used. Most of my teeth are very tightly spaced, and I have crowns and an implant as well, so that was a big problem. But I assumed it was simply a bad batch. The next one that I opened isn't doing that but it is clear that the new material is cheap, thin, and uncomfortable to use. Here's my problem: I can't use any dental product that is mint flavored, and this appears to be the ONLY tape-style floss that comes in an unflavored version. So it's not a case of simply 'switching to a different floss brand'...there are NO brands that have floss tape without mint. Oral-B had a great product and now they have ruined it. I don't know if their floss picks are still the old material but if they are, I am going to order a metric ton of them before they ruin that product too. :-(

Best dental floss

The floss itself is fine, but the packaging/dispenser does not work properly. Out of a package of 6, 4 of the dispensers did not work - the floss would not unroll. I had to take them out of the dispenser and manually unroll the floss. This has happened on two separate orders, so quality control is lacking.

I only wish there were a lower rating. Who engineered this garbage and how did Oral B put their name on it? Let's make floss nearly impossible to pull out, make the packaging break if you apply the kind of Herculean strength required to do so, and make the floss itself some plasticky nightmare on the teeth. You should be embarrassed to give this away for free let alone charge a premium for it. What psychopath thought this garbage was a good idea?

It's not oral b dental floss. It's like plastic. The cases are weak. I would not buy here again.

Diese Zahnseide von Oral hatte ich schon mehrfach bestellt und war stets zufrieden damit. Die Seide ist jetzt etwas breiter als sonst und damit deutlich weniger zum Reinigen der Zahnzwischenräume geeignet. Die Seide passt auch nicht mehr richtig in das Aufnahmegehäuse. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht und werde in Zukunft andere Marken testen.

These are more expensive than your usual dental floss but if you want to get right down into your gums to prevent plaque, then you have to pay for the privilege. I have been using these for a few years at least twice daily and would not use any other make.

It's non minty dental floss. Mint is horrible, plain is great!
