Exactly what I was hoping for!
I have always thought that it was a good idea to have backup power in case of an extended power outage, and recently my wife started working from home, so it was time to spend the money and get it done. After extensive reading and debating, I decided that a battery backup with a solar panel is a better fit for us rather than a conventional generator, and if you've done some research too, you'll know that Bluetti is usually a pretty recommended brand, so that's why you're here. I went with the AC180 because it had comparable specs to the another brand I was considering, and I'm not going to bore you with all the specs, but this unit had 100 more watts than the other one, the price, and Bluetti's support is supposed to be better (more on this at the end.) So that is ultimately why I went with the AC180. When my unit arrived it was packaged well with no damage, and had 55% charge on it, which is right where you want it to be before storing it long term. I couldn't wait to test it in a real world application, so I unplugged the power strip in the living room with a smart TV and PS4 on it and started them up. The Bluetti worked like a champ. Now obviously it was only running like 150w of electronics, but it's still amazing to see that you can play for hours on this honestly pretty small (about 30 pound) battery generator when it's only half charged! I unplugged the unit and plugged it into the wall to charge it to full so I could fully cycle the battery, and I came to a problem. For some reason my unit was only charging at about 300w. I thought that this couldn't be right from everything that I had read, so off I went to do research. I downloaded the app to make sure I was on the most up to date firmware, and everything looked right. After doing more research, some people recommended to drain the unit to 0 with turbo charge turned on and then it should charge at normal speed. This is what I did and it worked. After draining the unit to 0, I was able to charge from my home plug at over 1000w. Then came the fun of playing the ps4 for a few more hours to drain the battery back down again for storage! I honestly had to plug more into it because it was taking so long..... I know that this unit has more than enough power to run my wife's PC, modem, the fridge, and some lights for hours if the power went out, which is all we really need. We aren't living rural, and outages usually don't last long, so this sized unit is perfect for us. I also bought a 160w portable solar panel to accompany the AC180, and hooking it up was simple and will allow us to extend our usage even further if needed, or bring this little powerhouse camping with us. Lastly, 2 days after buying this unit, Bluetti added an additional $50 coupon to this unit which they honored when I asked them about it. So far, their customer service has been great to me, and the unit other than the charging issue has performed amazingly, so I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Not getting what I should from the battery
Update to initial review - I am updating my review to 5 stars from 3 for a few reasons. First, part of my problem was that I was not taking into account the 15 watt consumption from the AC Inverter. Be sure that you add 15 watts to whatever item you have plugged into the AC for a more accurate time for the time something will run. That was squarely on me. However, even with this, it was still under performing by a couple of hours, which brings me to my next point. Abbey with customer service worked with me and reached out to me. We spent time going through discharge and recharge cycles and then she offered an exchange for the unit with another AC180 sent me a prepaid label and was ready to do the exchange. This is where I want to expand a little on my customer service experience and it was top notch. I have dealt with customer service from many other companies in the past and this was far and above the best! I was almost ready to ship it back when I decided to check one more time for any firmware updates. There were a couple, so I installed both firmware updates and then did one more discharge to 0 percent and this time the unit went from under performing to over performing! Needless to say, I am now hanging onto this unit. This was my first venture into power stations and I really learned a lot. Please be sure to do the following when you receive one of these units…install the app and check for firmware updates and install those. Check for more firmware updates until it tells you that it is up to date. 2nd…charge it to 100 percent and then unplug it from charging. After fully charged, place a load of around 100 watts or so on the AC side and let it discharge until the unit powers off. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour to allow the batteries to cool off, unplug everything and then recharge it back to 100 percent. This will recalibrate the battery for more accurate readings and better performance. With all of this done, I am now thrilled with the unit. Again, a big thank you to the Abbey in customer service for the help, advice and patience! Initial review—- I spent a couple of weeks researching power stations and kept coming back to this one based on the reviews, specs and battery capacity. When it arrived, I was impressed with the packaging as well as the unit itself. It appears to be very solid and well built. Very bright display and very easy to read. My intentions when buying this unit was to be able to take it camping and also to provide a supplement to my generator by running a few essentials overnight while recharging from the generator during the day. We just had our first camping trip while taking this along to run a box fan in the tent overnight. I worked out the math given the number of watts that the fan pulls and came up with approx 16 to 17 hours at 55 watts. When I plugged the fan in, the unit agreed with my math and showed about 17 hours left running the 55 watt fan. We had it on for approx 7 hours when we woke and the display said it only had about 3.3 hours remaining with about 22 percent remaining on the battery. Temperature wasn't an issue since it was between 65 - 70 the entire night, so no extreme temps were involved. I was taking into account useable battery capacity of 85 percent and was a little upset that I was only squeezing out 10 to 11 hours when the unit itself along with the math that I did said that I should be getting about 16 to 17. I was losing about 5 to 6 hours somewhere. Again, this was just running a single 55 watt fan and nothing more. It just makes me wonder now what I will really get if I want to power my fridge for a few hours overnight as I was hoping for. I know that this is a mid sized unit at 1152 rated wh, but I was expecting a bit more. Now that I am home, I plan to recharge and see what I really get out of a smaller 40 watt fan. The math on that one works out to be about 20 hours, so we will see. Bottom line is that I really do like the unit, but just do not know if I received a bad one or if the specs are just way off even taking into account useable battery and AC Inverter draw. If we had even tried to power a small led lamp overnight, even for a short time, it would have completely drained the unit. This is not what I had seen in the glowing reviews for the AC180 along with test for usable battery life. Like I said, maybe this one is just malfunctioning.

Amazing power station
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love this power station! I took it camping for 5 days, and it lasted the entire trip while powering my portable car refrigerator and charging my phone several times. It was 100% reliable the entire time, and I had absolutely no issues with it. I really love the design. It’s sleek, has a good number of charging ports, and I love having multiple ways to charge it. You can charge it in your car, with solar panels, or at home, which makes it very versatile. It’s great for camping, extended power at home, and emergency situations. The only downside is that it is fairly heavy, around 35 lbs, so it can be a little difficult to move around, especially if you’re going to be traveling or setting up and breaking down camp frequently. Because of the weight, I probably wouldn’t recommend it for short trips where you’re constantly moving it around. Overall, I absolutely love this power station. After using it for 5 days straight, I can confidently say it was reliable and performed exactly as I needed it to. I 100% recommend purchasing it, and I’ll be purchasing solar panels for it as well so I can use it for even longer camping trips. 🔋☀️🏕️

⭐ Bluetti AC180 – Affordable Backup Power and Instant Peace of Mind
About a month ago, my area was hit with a storm that knocked out our power for over an hour. My two teenagers were home alone at the time. No lights, no Internet, no way to communicate easily—and I couldn’t get home right away. That experience made me realize how much we rely on power, especially for safety and staying connected. ⸻ ⚙️ Setup & Installation After researching a lot of options, I decided on the Bluetti AC180 because it offered: • Enough power for essentials • A built-in UPS (uninterrupted power supply) • A price that didn’t require me to fully commit to a whole-house backup system Setup was surprisingly straightforward. I: 1. Connected the AC180 to my regular wall outlet so it stays charged and in standby. 2. Disconnected the power source to one set of outlets in our basement that covered TV, and lamps to (our family room). 3. Ran that broken circuit through an 8-gauge outdoor extension cord plugged directly into the AC180. Great product and value! Keeps its charge long term unlike other lithium batteries!
Great product and value. A bit on the heavy side. Great for emergency power, camping, off-road, etc. Unlike lithium batteries that lose their charge and must be charged up yearly, this keeps its charge. I haven't used it for about 6 months, and when I checked it, it was still at 100% charge. All my other lithium batteries I need to recharge at least once a year!

Junk product
I live in a tent and I was expecting better from Bluetti. This product does not do as advertised. First I have 700 watts of solar for my system that just halfway died(I used batteries and two out of 5 died after two years). I had 1- 5000 watt inverter connected to my old system and one for back up. That pooped out too. One inverter was two years old, one at 3 months old(VEVOR don't bother with them, im still trying to get my warranty, i started as soon as the first one half way broke. Almost two years later, still trying to get Vevor to honor their warranty). Already had the solar panels, so I get a bluetti ac180. This doesn't do as advertised either. 700 watts of solar coming in and the machine uses 167 watts of that, to charge. Should be charging with 500 watts. I can not run this and use it at the same time unless it is small stuff like recharging batteries. Otherwise I can only use it every other day. Cloudy day- forget it. If it's not fully charged I can only use what charge is in it. I checked all my connections with a meter and they are fully functional. Sent all proof and photos to Bluetti. My first day, I connected 100 watt solar panel, oddly it took 40 minutes to drain the machine WITH power coming in and 1000 watts going out. It supposed to take at least 1 hr for this without a solar panel connected. I contacted customer service by email at bluetti, they lied and told me that is normal, in fact it should drain quicker when power is connected to it and charging at the same time as using it. Bunch of bologna. I've been going round and round telling them.that people with high frequencies are going to have issues with their equipment and they need to figure it out. I bought another bluetti, just to prove it to them. It's been snowing here so I will update on a sunny day. I am handicapped and this is not easy. Bluetti has been told this and yet, they seem to think it is easy for me to pack this one up and send it back. I live off grid, no mail, no deliveries, I have to do this not a driver of FedEx. I still need a unit. I asked.them to take $100 ($300 all together) off for each solar panel that the machine doesn't let charge itself. They refused. I had to buy two just to have one everyday. The same way it should work without buying a second one. I will update the second one on a few days. It will do the same because the earth is changing and the people with it. I use 20 watts of power for animals and every night the bluetti with 80% power left in it, shuts itself off. I have to get up at 2am and turn it back on. Hoping my 2 month old chickens, which I have already lost 8 to a different solar power, have acclimated to 32 degree weather. I go to the app to turn it on and low and behold, it doesn't work. Customer service lied and repeats itself. Making excuses and blaming the customer for their products inefficiencies. I asked Bluetti if the power station had dangerous levels of Radio Frequency radiation, they said it was safe. Because Bluetti lied to me once, I bought an EMF reader and checked it myself. It was reading safe levels of RF for both power stations. If it's not one thing, it's another with these power stations. Good thing I'm always home. Bad thing, I can not babysit a machine all day. Last night, the bluetti was at 99% charged. I had an extension cord plugged into it but that was it. Nothing connected to the cord. I wake up to a horribly cloudy day and its at 67%. I turned the power station completely off, and intended to get the residuals of a cloudy day. I go back at 530 pm, turn on the machine and it is still at 67%. Apparently charging doesn't occur when power is off. At least not on mine. How is it that a machine is made not to accept power when it is not at 100%? On or off. Last night, the Bluetti was 100% full with only extension cord hooked up to it. Nothing pluggedinto the cord. I wake up to a cloudy day and I have 58% in it. Turn off machine or keep it on eco mode, if you keep the machine. It is a design flaw and that is why the eco status automatically comes on in the app and why you have to manually turn it off. Everytime it has drained my power when nothing is connected, in the night, and now it seems to be doing it faster. If you buy any power station check to see the amount of solar coming in is what the specs promise. On or off. I got a freezer half full of food that is in jeopardy now.

So far so good but NOT the wireless charger - bummer.
Needed this for camping on those few occasions that a power outage occurs and I couldn’t use up all my Rv battery power or for those times when I just need to charge devises while sitting at a fire. After researching quite a few of these I chose this one for its value, brand name and price. I also researched the benefits of the LiFePO4 battery. With four standard outlets, it is also nice that it has direct plug ins for your phone and other tech - one USB C port and one USB A (would have been nice to have two USB C ports but I’m just being picky. One feature I bought it for was the wireless charging on the top of the unit. BUT, no matter how I tried, it didn’t work. I even took off the case so it laid flat and it still didn’t keep charging my IPhone. It connected with my phone at first but then a few seconds later it quit charging. This is something many others have commented about as well. So, don’t buy it for this feature. Luckily with a charging cord, I can still plug in my phone to the unit to charge, even though it would be nice if it worked without. It charged up really fast (even came with almost a full charge) and after a few weeks of non use it still has its full charge. The blue led is easy to read. This will also come inside after camping season and I can use it as emergency back up if I loose house power to power up a computer or even run a pump on my fish tank. It’s a little bit heavy to carry for me but I purchased a bag to carry it and the bag is perfect with zippers to allow me to just unzip the zippers and still use the unit without taking off the bag. While it also can charge with a solar panel, I didn’t purchase one. It also came with a cable to charge it thru a car lighter as well as just through a standard wall outlet. The only somewhat confusing part until I get more use from the unit is making sure to push either the ac or dc power button depending on what you are charging. Luckily on the unit itself the plugs are marked as ac or dc to remind you which button to press for power. Overall, it’s a good unit to have on hand for any unexpected power outage or portability of power for camping or day use trips.

Best Lithium Generators out there, skip to paragraph 2 to review of product
Bluetti has impressed me over and over, this is my second purchase from them, this one was for one of my buddies, I used to sell these a few years ago and loved all of their features. As I replace my old UPS’ I will continue to purchase more of these in different capacities. They last longer, are more efficient and I don’t need to switch out the SLA batteries anymore. If you look at a 500va UPS and compare it to bluetti’s 200w unit they are about $50 apart in price right now. You’ll spend the $50 in batteries for the UPS in 3-5 years. Bluetti will go for 10 years easy and you get extra functionality. Here’s the review I bought my first one a year ago and have been super impressed, 22 hours straight of usage on battery power. Mind you pulling about 200w, using all 1800 would be significantly less but it does the job for me and it’s nice to have the headspace. Largest thing I’d recommend, if using in UPS mode or left plugged in for a long time, unplug it every 3ish months and completely drain it. That’s how you’ll get the best lifetime on the battery. Well done Bluetti.

Excellent but don't forget self consumption of 20 watts and 10% energy loss due to self-protection.
I purchased the Bluetti AC180. Very nice unit. I am happy with it but people should be aware of the following facts that are not well explained in advance by the manufacturer: 1. The unit itself consumes 20 watts every hour with the inverter ON. This means , the unit can consume almost 500 watt-hours (50% of the battery capacity) just sitting there not producing any useful energy. For small loads, this self consumption or idle consumption may become a very important issue. Don't expect the same energy capacity especially when using it under small loads. 2. The user manual clearly states that only 90% of the battery capacity can be used to protect the battery. 3. So, for example, this means that you only get 800 watt-hours energy capacity when using 80 watts of power for 10 hours. So, you get 800 watt-hours instead of the advertised 1,154 watt-hours and this is perfectly normal and reflects exactly the performance stated in the user manual. Unfortunately, this is not well explained before buying. People should buy bigger or smaller units depending on their needs. Smaller units will have smaller self-consumption (Idle consumption) and probably more adequate for smaller loads. When using these power stations for smaller loads, you should plan on using a smaller power station with lots of extra batteries instead of buying a very large unit with no extra batteries. I think this is a very important information that the manufacturer should explain before people buy these power stations. 3. Recharges in 2 hours at standard speed. 3. You can recharge using the DC MPPT Input (12-60 V). Works very well. I tested it with a 12 volts battery and it works very well. 4. Some parameters cannot be modified through the user interface (Display/Keyboard). This is unfortunate. The user should normally be able to modify all parameters without having to use a smart phone with a special app. It is possible to use the power station without using a phone but keep in mind that some parameters like charging rate can only be modify using a smart phone. 5. The unit comes on and start charging by itself as soon as it detects power either coming from the AC or DC inlets. If you don't want that functionality, you will have to disconnect the unit or install a switch before the unit in order to prevent it from starting by itself. 6. The information available online and the user manuals should be improved in order to better explain many aspects of these power stations, what should be expected in different situations and how to use them properly.

Probably the best portable solar power station in it's class (4.5/5)
I’ve had the machine for two weeks and have tested all of the features. It is everything that Bluetti claims it to be. It looks and feels like a quality device and it’s not too heavy (~16kg/35.27lbs) to take car camping. The UPS function actually works, even on devices with an electronic power button (such as a desktop PC) and that is unlike the emergency power source (EPS) system on a competitive model from another popular brand. I do wish the built in MPPT controller could handle more input current from solar. It is difficult to get close to the maximum 500W input from solar because of the input current limitation of 10A. 15A (like it can handle on AC) would be ideal on a machine in this class; however, a more robust MPPT controller and heavier gauge wiring would be required and that would increase the cost slightly. My only other wish for the AC180 would be rubber port caps for all ports, including the USB ports. If you charge the internal batteries outdoors with solar, dust and debris can collect in the ports. I purchased some vanilla port covers to take care of that, but they are not attached to the device so I may lose a few. The cooling fan does kick in when it is charging or discharging at a high rate but the sound is not as high pitched as it is on competing models. It isn’t quiet, but it isn’t horrible either. I downloaded the phone App to update the firmware. I don’t normally use phone Apps, but it was necessary in this case because you cannot update it with a jump drive or a PC. It works. I do wish you could set the display screen time out in the App. 30 seconds is okay, but when you are trying to optimize the position of your solar panels to maximize the input watts it would be nice to have the choice, rather than pushing the power button to turn the timed out display back on. Over all, an excellent machine and a good value if you can purchase it on sale for ~$1000. It will run a fridge over night in an emergency and has a large enough inverter (pure sine wave) to run almost anything for a short duration.
