Good smoky flavor when discard some top portion
I use these to enhance my BBQ blend, and I found that the top portion has a weak flavor and smell. However, when I discard the top portion, the smoky BBQ aroma is fantastic. It seems that the top portion might have been compromised by exposure to air. Aside from that, it’s a great smoky powder that improves any seasoning.

I used this in a dry rub on a piece of pork shoulder. When the meat had been in a low oven for 12 hours and I made it into pulled pork, you would think it had been made in a smoker.I am only glad it's a large jar! This will be used, and repurchased. No more liquid smoke for me! Not ever.Smoked peach BBQ sauce, homemade, rounded the sliders off nicely.

Over the top intensity
Flavor does not taste like hickory smoke. Extremely intense flavor, to the point even a light dusting overwhelms to senses. Update 3/26 I have,since this review, experimented and found the right amount of this product to use, and now know this is an excellent hickory seasoning...BUT you have to experiment to discover the right amount to use to please your particular taste buds
