Is the cholecalciferol in this product the same used in rat poison?

We can reassure you the cholecalciferol in Beam & Balance is not used in rat poisons. It's produced using a 100% non-GMO algal source, commonly (and safely!) used in foods globally. Some forms of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) are used for this purpose, because at high doses, without vitamin K2 to balance it out, blood calciums can rise to toxic levels - rats are sensitive to this and it's fatal to them when consumed. It's important to balance doses of vitamin D3 with K2 to avoid calcium blood levels to rise, and always follow the recommended dosage guidelines.

Is the bottle glass or plastic ?

not sure to be honest. love Bare Biology as other products I bought in the past were in a glass botttle - will be writing them to check on this as I am trying to be as plastic free as possible. Sorry I couldn't be of any help
