It's a projection screen... It's not measured in pixels. It's simply a screen that you project an image on, from a projector. If your projector is 4k, then yes. If your projector is not, then no.

How much space is there between the wall and the screen when pulled down?

all depends on how far you put it from the wall

Anyone have recommendations for which hooks to use to mount it?

I used some basic hooks from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Ceiling-Coated-inches-Multipurpose-Outdoor/dp/B08VNQR5NB/ref=sr_1_3?crid=6I5KE0KHEJEO&dchild=1&keywords=screw+in+hooks+for+hanging&qid=1631407752&sr=8-3

If I hang the screen on the wall, is there a gap between the screen and the wall?

The screen itself will be approximately 3/4"
