Though it was smaller than I thought, and it would be a lot easier to play if it were a little larger. But this is also subjective since everyone has different sized hands and mine are a little large for this. If they had an option for a larger version that would be nicer for someone like me. I've never played an instrument outside of the recorder in K-12, so the learning curve is more difficult for me to learn to play it. That is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars since the item shows pictures of finger placement on the holes, but does not recognize the musical notes by letter. This is both good and bad, good if you know how to read music and are a beginner looking to just play the songs that the book has, but bad if you eventually want to learn other songs on the instrument. Having said that, it is pretty easy to learn the songs in the book, but it takes a little practice with it. This is a great gift for any Zelda fan, even if they never play it, it makes a great display piece as it is very appeasing to the eye. The stand however, could be better as since both are the same material, there is some fraction and it can be tricky to get the item to sit up properly, so I would advice to have it rest on a wide surface with a towel beneath.
