My wife and I are dieting using the NHS method of simply cutting 500 calories from our day's intake (2,000 Kcal for Ladies and 2500 for gents), and with a bit of aggressive calorie deficit I've shed over 4.5 Stones. But, our Salter analyser scales were becoming unreliable with bogus readings (one job to do and failed!). I did some homework and with 27,000 sales, these INSMART 260H Bluetooth scales seemed perfect. OK, so we are in our sixties and the thought of binding the scales to an app terrifies us but I threw caution to the wind and bought them. Same day from desertcart prime, free delivery and a 15% reduction voucher which made them just over twenty squid! (£20.04 to be precise). They are neat, well packaged and nicely designed and we chose black so that the readings show up (our white salter ones were hard to decipher). Easy set up that even we could understand. Pop in the three included batteries and stand with naked feet on the metal plates and up comes the reading, press the rear button to change settings to kgs, stones and pounds or metric tonnes if you visit Greggs the bakers regularly. Scan the barcode with Google scanner (on all smart phones) or download the Insmart app from the play store on your phone. Fill in the details to set up your account and then binding is simple. Switch on bluetooth capability on your phone... step on scales..... select binding section on the insmart app and press + button to find the scales. Once binding is OK's.... you are good to go. Now open the app and press the blue feet icon at the bottom. Stand on the scales and it reads on thopse and also on your app. Remain standing until it says all complete and your figures appear. Water, Visceral fat, Muscle mass, BMI and body fat are all shown plus lots more including your body age calculated via your results...... prepare to be shocked if you are overweight and 50 years old and your body age is 75! Click on any recorded figure and it tells you what that is and what is should be if you want to be healthy and represent your country in the next Olympic games. You can link the app to others like Google fit and fit bitch... or is it Fitbit? I also upload my blood pressure, pulse rate, water intake etc and all figures are stored, showing trends that you can check your progress on. **Q: My scales won't connect with the app?**
A: I changed to this scale as the previous one was having problems connecting.
This has worked flawlessly upto a year. But now just after a year, I'm having this problem. I have deleted the app twice and reinstalled it, remove the batteries and reinserted them but problem persists. 
I can't help being synical that this is deliberate, to force us to change the model.

**Q: I have had these scales 6 months and now they don’t work properly! If the scales move an inch by weight can change by 3lbs?!**
A: It could be more to do with your flooring, I always have the scales in the same place when I weigh...I believe it could be the same for all scales

**Q: I've linked to fitbit, but it's not showing in my fitbit app. Where does it show the info?**
A: It will shows in mobile. Download app related to this weight machine.

**Q: Why does the App show me hundreds of email addresses very similar to mine - including my full name?**
A: You must be talking about when you enter your email to login - from what i can see at this point it's simply the app predicting the email suffix e.g @gmail, @hotmail, @live, it will change the email prefix (the personal part) as you type, as you are the user entering the information.

The product itself is fantastic. Very accurate readings. Love the Bluetooth feature keeps things trackable on your phone via an easy to use app… HOWEVER there was blood on my scales when I opened the box ? What looks to be blood anyway…
