Review: Excellent, refreshing green tea flavor - This green tea tastes very high quality, and is packaged very nicely. I'm not crazy about most green teas since a lot of them can be too strong, but I found the flavors in this tea to be very refreshing and not overwhelming. So if you're looking for a more smoky/earthy green tea, this may not be what you want. I love that they provide some background on the family owned farm in Japan, and that the product is listed as USDA Organic, which gives me confidence in the quality and safety of the tea. As for price, I think it's on the expensive side, but considering it's imported from a farm in Japan and meets USDA Organic regulations (which is not cheap to get), I think the price is justified. This is a specialty high-grade tea and is priced accordingly, so it will not be as cheap as your usual grocery store Lipton packets (which are not great quality anyways, so not a fair comparison). And if you're wondering about what looks like stems in the tea - that is intentional, and for some kinds of tea stems are intentionally added to curate a certain flavor. That is the case for this tea and does not indicate low quality or anything nefarious. The specific blend is "Kukicha" (aka 'twig tea' which is a blend of stems, stalks, and twigs of the tea plant), Yuzu Peel, and Matcha.
Review: Appealing tea, I would describe this as a gentle tea - Nice tea that is not too sweet, barely astringent, and little roasty-tasting with a fruit aftertaste. The box instructions are: 1 tea bag, 12 ounces water at 185degF, steeped for 1-2 minutes. That method makes a good cup of tea, maybe I will experiemtnas I go through the rest of the box. I have made a second cup with the same tea bag and would try a third, just have not been in a situation to do so. I have been so spoiled by using a thermometer when making tea, I find 140degF is a good sipping temperature so I never burn my tongue tasting tea any more! This tea is a product of Japan. The American distributor address is on the box, with the Sugimoto website.. There is a best by date on the bottom of the box (in 2025 for the box I received). The box says each tea bag contains 2.5 g. There are 12 tea bags together in a sealed foil/mylar bag inside the box, just like the listing pictures. I like the mouth feel/aftertaste of this tea. Box says try it iced but I'm enjoying it too much as hot tea to do that. Responding to another review, Kukicha green tea is intentionally made with a blend of stems, stalks, and leaves. It is not necessarily a lower grade green tea, just a different style.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not very pure
*by A***R on January 5, 2024*

LOTS of stems in the bag so seems quality could be improved. Curious what grade of tea this is. Decent flavor and color but perhaps that's because they use matcha in the bags as well.
