These bags work BETTER than FOODSAVER® bags IMHO and what a price savings too!I just made bags out of this roll yesterday for some chicken and beef and these sealed up great. I always par-freeze my meats first in the freezer for 30 minutes before vacuum packing [so blood juices don't cause an issue] and if you place your meat in a cheap gallon sized 'storage' bag before putting in the vac-bag it will keep your vacuum bag cleaner for re-use and also make it easier to remove from the vac bag when still frozen.The suction power in these bags was excellent as was the sealing after being vacuumed and no loss of seal afterwards. There is not a pre-made labeling strip but it's easy to write on the end of the plastic bag with a permanent felt marker.This is a BIG, honkin', HUGE roll of bag material so I put a few rubber bands over the roll to keep it in place in my kitchen drawer. You could always re-roll some of this bag material into a roll that will fit into your vacuum sealer roll-holding compartment but I don't really mind cutting from the large roll (I have tiles on my counter-tops, so I can cut by the lines in my tiles). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High Quality Bags For Sealing Foods For Sous Vide *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2016* I bought this bag roll to use with the  VonShef Vacuum Food Saver and Sealer System . I figured the smartest thing to do is to stick with the same brand as that will ensure that they will work together. There are many uses for sealed food: freezer preservation, microwaving, boiling, but I seal food in bags mainly for sous vide cooking.You get an 11" width roll that is 50' long. The quality of the plastic is sufficiently thick to not break on its own, yet thin enough to easily seal in a sealing machine. There are no weird plastic smells that could interfere with your foods, which is something you do not want. Once your food is sealed it is leak proof and ready to cook sous vide.The rule of thumb is to cut the bag to fit your food—plus two inches on each side. This gives the sealing machine enough space for the volume of your food, and additional space in case you make mistakes.I think this bag roll is great for food sealing. Once you are experienced enough you will be able to use less of the roll and seal like a professional. Recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heavy Weight Roll *by M***9 on Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2015* This is a good, heavy roll of plastic for use with the food sealer. I have the FoodSaver 2244, and it works well with that unit. It's textured on one side, and clear on the other, so you can clearly see what you've sealed in. I usually seal my food, especially raw meat before freezing it (I buy in massive bulk), then put a label as to what it is (sirloin roast, chicken breast, pork butt, whatever), date it, and tuck it in to the 1-1/2" or so that is left at the end of the bag after sealing, and run another seal at the very edge. That way, the food is identified easily. I like being able to cut off only 6" or so for a steak, or a larger piece for a roast or ham. With some foods, like turkey breast, I will season them, put in the bag, add 1/4 cup of double strength turkey broth and seal it up.
