Finally took the plunge - Not Router...
I am a hobbyist, but did get a scholarship in woodworking. A router is probably the most versatile tool in any shop, especially if you have a table and mine is no different getting considerable use. My, my dado's, rabbets, etc. were always done on my router table. While I said it is the most versatile, it also means you need to be on your game in terms of router usage and depending on what you want to do, this sometimes means you enter the dangerous climb cut territory as to decrease tear out. I just finished building bathroom cabinets and now, I am building some barn doors. Since I am dealing with 8/4 knotty alder, and I will be renovating my kitchen cabinets as well so I started investigating again. My deal is that I buy the best because I want them to last. My tools, bits and blades reflect that as well, but I did not want to spend $300, hence why I did not have a dado set. Well, I found this, being Freud, I decided to give it a shot and return it if I did not like what I saw. Well, it is impressive. 6" scared me, but thinking through the years, I never needed a dado or groove deeper than an inch, and these blades give more to me, so... In theory, 6" also gives you a little more power, but I have a nice Jet Cabinet saw, so no worries there. Using the set is a pleasure, cutting like butter, no vibration or noise with a very sharp cut. It gives a perfectly flat cut, so that hits my number one requirement for quality in cut. It comes with many spacers as well, even with the thickness stamped, so very helpful. The case is also important as well as it protects your investment and ensures you don't lose parts. If there is a complaint, I would prefer it if it was keyed so you cannot put carbide against carbide. As long as you pay attention when tightening the arbor you will be fine; it only takes a couple seconds to confirm all is well before you tighten. Like another reviewer, the template is inaccurate. The reality though is that we all tend to use just a couple different patterns, so grab the calipers, figure it out, and never worry about it. solid, vs, ply, vs. mdf, vs. melamine are all different, so just create a template for each. There is really no way around this and if you woodwork to any capacity, you do this with everything. Setting tooling up to be square and accurate is the most important step anyway, and if you skip it, you will constantly fight it and your project will show it. So, it's something you should have accepted long ago and if there are two tips I give to everyone who asks me how I do it, I say patience and tool setup. You don't need to have the best tools, but they do have to be setup perfectly. That was free, LOL.

Great product.
Works with my Skil table saw. I had to sell the others I had because they were too wide for my table saw.

Great value, great cuts.
I spent a lot of time researching Dado blades before purchasing this one. I'm not afraid to spend money on a saw blade because a good blade makes a huge difference. I have a few Forrest blades as well as a Tenryu, some Freud blades, etc.. After doing a lot of research, I settled on this one simply because of performance for the price. I've only used it about 3 times so far and it's been great. Very sharp, clean cuts, and easy to get the right size cut. I'm glad I didn't spend $200-$300 more a Forrest, Ridge or Tenryu. I'm sure those may be better, but for 99% of the cuts I'll be doing, this one works great.

Nice Set, Although Width Guide Inaccurate
Firstly, this set is clean and sharp and appears to be of high-quality material. The engraving on shims are a bit difficult to read and did have a slight sheen of rust on the etching. I would note that the shims are easy to warp or twist if they get caught on your arbor threads if the stack is not tight before wrenching in. This blade set is excellent and I DO recommend it. The shim and chipper guide is off except as a general guide. You need to shim them up to get accurate cuts for imperial (USA) standards, so they get a 3 for accuracy (quality control and follow through). These blades were created in a metric plant and quality control should have caught this and it would be easy enough to publish a corrected chipper and shim guide on the website or notate the variance. Admittedly woodworking is NOT an ultra-precise medium like metal machining, but to some people 1/64 inch matters. In this case, I am talking about metal machining that effects wood working accuracy so it is held to the higher standard in my opinion. These blades are shy of actual by approximately 0.014 inches starting with the 2 outside blade cut notated as 1/4 inch. This might be helpful when cutting plywood as it is a bit smaller. To make the true accurate cuts for 1/4 in and 3/8 inch cuts, shim up .016 will leave cuts ever so slightly proud so reduce by 1 - .004 shim if you need it tighter. I note this as no one had an accuracy update on any blogs or the FREUD website that I found. I haven't explored any bigger as I don't want to widen out my zero clearance insert more than needed. This is meant to be accurate and more importantly informative, hopefully saving you some time and frustration, please verify for yourself. Management is not responsible for lost or stolen items :-)

I wanted to buy the Italian made tools because of their quality and the packaging for storage,
Extremely sharp, my first time use of a dado system leaving sharp cuts and the explanation of use was very understandable making it a safe tool provided you do rely on their instructions.

WE restored a older Makita overhead draw saw, to be a dedicated Dado cutter, new bench with tee channels and hold down clamps.

Ironic that the only way to buy this Italian-made dado in UK is to import from US! Initial impressions are favourable; tried on my radial arm saw without chippers or spacers in the first instance whilst waiting for clarification of the scanty instructions (not helped by the tiny print). The excellent case would be improved by labelling to show what goes where. I notice that the spacers are now labelled with their sizes. Four stars whilst awaiting response from Freud (didn't know the name is from FREsas of UDine) would probably change to five.
