Worked fast!
My little Yorkie/Chihuahua mix came up with some raised, dark headed bumps all over his back. I researched and found this was the one of the highest rated shampoos for "folliculitis" so I thought instead of a visit to my vet, I'd give it a try. Well, one bath according to the instructions, and they were almost gone after a week. After bath #2 I don't see any of the bumps and his fur is nice and shiny! I'm so glad this shampoo helped Zeke, he's the best and funniest little dude, my ride or die haha.

Great for dogs with allergies
Really helps my dog. She used to go crazy itching after an oatmeal shampoo bath. This has really helped!

Helps with yeast smells
I have purchased this several times. My Cocker Spaniel has a very yeasty smell and the vet suggested this shampoo to help combat it. It does help--not always completely gone- depends how strong the smell is. It doesn't lather to great, after you get on the dog you need to add a bit of water to get any lather at all. It will also bleach your clothes so beware. I bathe our dog every 7 to 10 days. Id say it usually helps the smell for about 3 or 4 days. Leaves her coat soft and in good shape.

The reason why I buy this is because it was recommended by my dog's vet.

Good stuff
Shampoo works great. My dog has allergies and this is literally what the doctor ordered.

Got rid of paw inflammation
My pug has a terribly grass allergy but loves to sit in the grass and stare at the fence like he’s looking over the land at Pride Rock so he’s been getting regular foot soaks in the bath with this. It seems to help the inflammation but it doesn’t really help with the chewing. Thankful there is no smell because he stinks enough as is.

Prescribed by vet for pyoderma folliculitis on dog.
This is a good shampoo. It was prescribed by my dog’s vet for pyoderma folliculitis, which is a fancy term for hair follicle inflammation and a subsequent skin infection. My dog ( a golden retriever) had very flaky, cracked skin that smelled incredibly musty. So musty, I had to leave the room or have him leave the room, even after bathing him. The bacterial infection caused the smell and the follicle inflammation I presume the flaky skin. The vet prescribed this shampoo to be used 3x/ week for one month along with a course of oral antibiotics that he had to take for 10 days ( keflex twice a day) . It cleared up, but the vet said this will likely be a lifelong recurring issue as these dogs tend to have skin problems and are prone to allergies. It has now been several months and I noticed the flaky skin was returning and a little bit of smell although not as repugnant as before. So I started using it again. Ideally I would do this several times a week again, but bathing a big dog is not a quick 5 min chore so I can realistically do it once, maybe twice a week. We’ll see if I can keep it at bay without another trip to the vet for antibiotics. This shampoo uses benzoyl peroxide as it’s active ingredient and is antimicrobial and “flushes” the follicles. It is to be used on a dog that is not infected to keep potentially bad bacteria on the skin to a minimum toprevent an infection. if your dog smells as bad as mine did, you should probably take it to a vet. It doesn’t have a fruity or typical nice shampoo smell, but rather, it smells like a medicated shampoo. But that doesn’t matter to me. Hope this review helps!
