Review: A beast of a keyboard! - A professional IT guy here, wanted to help anyone out who may be looking for a new keyboard. It's my opinion but I live and breath IT and have decades of experience that I could offer. Due your due diligence either way... This is absolutely the best keyboard that I have ever used at this price point! Are there better keyboards out there? Absolutely there is, however, "better" is both subjective and more expensive! But for under $70? I got the Redragon K556 PRO at $60, and I don't know how much better a keyboard could get for this price. The battery lasts long, even though I use the USB-to-USB-C cable directly to my PC for 99% of the time, and the build is sturdy and of great quality. I have only had it for a couple weeks so far but every day that goes by, I love it more and more. If you are looking for a budget keyboard I would suggest you get this one. The only important thing you should know is to choose the right key switch type for your preference. I got the linear switches (red) and it was way too smooth for my liking, but I could see how others would love it. It was smooth and fast. I like a little bit of weight and feedback so I got some good tactile switches and after installing them I can't find anything to complain about... this keyboard is a beast! Would recommend it to anyone in the market and if it ever broke on me or if I ever lost it, I would absolutely get it again. I would get this one over getting a more expensive one. I could see this keyboard lasting a long time and it is fully hot swappable. If you want a budget keyboard, get this one, I promise you won't regret it! Also, the preprogrammed RGB modes are awesome! I love the responsive ones, where the lights react to key presses. "Fn" + "Ins" keys to cycle through several cool RGB modes, took me a few days to figure out it had this feature.
Review: I want to love it (Update: they made it loveable.) - Update 3: Over the weekend I started having the issue I see in other reviews where the keyboard would start missing and repeating keystrokes intermittently. This morning when I sat down to start working it was happening frequently enough that it was a genuine problem. Fortunately, I decided to turn it off and on again and the problem has not returned after a full day of working. I am hoping that this is a continued viable resolution. I will continue to make updates over time as things change but at this point, while it would be nice if it were completely problem free, I am still more than happy with this purchase. Update 2: I bought this keyboard again on Cyber Monday because the price was hard to pass up. I am happy to report that my chief complaint has in fact been been fixed. Their description of it sounded more like a bandaid than a fix, but the actual result is exactly what I was looking for. This whole process has ultimately made me more of a fan of Redragon. Great pricing, good products, willing to address customer concerns. I am in. I will continue to make updates if things change and will leave previous comments as well for clarity. Update: I received an email from Reddragon stating they have made a firmware update that resolves my chief complaint. However, I had already returned the keyboard by the time I received it so I have no way to personally confirm. This does, at the very least, negate my "no intent" statement. I want to love this keyboard so much, but one major flaw leaves me at just liking it: missed keystrokes. This keyboard goes into sleep mode in about a minute without use; when you attempt to begin using it again it will miss the first two or so inputs. I've tried it in 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth and there is no difference still a ridiculously short sleep window. I downloaded the software hoping there might be a setting there, there is not. Searches on the internet show that it is a common complaint and it looks like there is no intent on changing it. This hurts even worse because everything else about this keyboard I absolutely love. The build quality is top notch. The aluminum body has a solid feel. They keys themselves feel a little more plastic than I would like, but just barely. It comes with plenty of extra switches of different types so that you can customize the feel for your WASD keys or whatever configuration you prefer. The switches also fit snugly into their spaces leaving little room for gunk and debris to find its way into the innards of the keyboard. The kickstands are solid and firm for those of us that like a little bit of an angle. Battery life is phenomenal, I don't think even with a longer sleep period I would be concerning myself too often with having to plug in the keyboard too often. I have become a HUGE fan of Redragon products over the last year, in fact I bought this to replace the wired version of this keyboard to help reduce clutter on my desk. Unfortunately I can't give this keyboard high praise when the most important function of a keyboard is input and this fails so often in that regard. I hope with all my heart Redragon releases a version of this keyboard that is reliable in a keyboard's most basic function; until then I'll be going back to my wired 556.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do the actual keys light up on the keyboard so you can see what you are typing in the dark or is it just lit surrounding the keys?**
A: No, the keys do not shine through at all. it is a nice key set though. I am using the red dragon crystal-clear set, and everything swapped over perfectly except the top 4 keys above the num pad.

**Q: is the 3000mAh battery rechargeable?**
A: Yes! Just use the USB plug to plug in to either your PC or a plug that has a USB port and it charges.
