Put the work in
This book was a fun little activity to help navigate our marriage. It has been beneficial for my husband and I as we become new parents. I’ve recommended to all my friends and family going through marital difficulties.

Worth Every Penny! People who pray together stay together!
Very well written with lots of homework. I am not a big fan of homework but this is about the one YOU Love and Your Spouse… so it’s worth every second!

Thumbs up
Liked it, but I wish the exercises can be time consuming for people with children

Good but we had some issues.
My husband and I bought this to do as a couple devotional. It was good in that it was written by a therapist and she included activities. Some of the chapters were helpful to us but we are a seasoned couple of 27 years who’ve already worked through a lot of the information over the years that didn’t apply to us. It was well written and easy to follow. We did one a day and finished the book. Overall I’d say it was ok/good. The issues we had were my husband felt since it was written by a woman therapist that it came from a woman’s perspective. He didn’t feel represented in this book but felt that it catered more towards the woman in the relationship. He also felt she brushed off the male role in the chapter that talked about sharing chores as if women did more than a man and the man needs to step it up on the household chores. This may be true in some relationships but not all. He felt men do a lot of chores too that women don’t typically do like yard work and repairs, but it focused on the males lack of doing cooking, cleaning, laundry, childcare, ect. In our relationship he does help with a lot of the household chores and I do help with outside chores too. Gender roles are shared and performed by both genders more today than in the past and he felt the book insinuated men don’t don’t pull their weight, but sometimes women don’t pull their weight either. So it wasn’t a fair or balanced view how she worded it. Instead of emphasizing on the male lack of doing certain chores and picking up their slack she should have emphasized each partner examine their involvement when it comes to chores and pick up their slack helping each other with chores. He and I both felt the activities were repetitive and some were a little out there but it was therapy work so I understand why. I would recommend this to new couples, young couples, or couple who have obvious problems in their marriage they need to work on.
