This is a fantastic bread knife. What makes it even more fantastic is, it's great in the kitchen for lots of cutting needs. Solid, well made, extremely sharp, and a bargain.

I know this is marketed/sold as a bread knife (and that's why I bought it) but I have to say that it's the best overall knife I have... I use it for essentially everything and it blows away my Henkel's knifes, my high end Japanese knives for essentially every cutting activity from bread (yes), to beef, chicken, vegetables, etc. I like it so much I'm buying more of them for friends as a gift. And on top of that, the cutting ability versus the value is great. It's essentially become the only knife I use. So....don't let the name "bread knife" fool you. Use it for everything.

I bought this knife and I definitely was looking for a knife that was not made in Japan. I saw German steel on it and when it arrived, it was made in China. Needless to say, I felt deceived and not happy about that. But as I looked around, the Steel is made in Germany and they make the knives in China, but I have to say this is one of the best knives we have it is amazingly sharp like razor sharp. It feels good in the hand. It does not roll and it cuts right through the toughest artesian breads but be careful because you’ll take your knuckles off before you know it. This is definitely a five star product. I am pleased.

Sharp - both literally and figuratively. We have been using as a bread knife for about a year, and it is quite effective in cutting in hard / dry / fresh / stale bread. We have not (yet) needed to sharpen it, so we do not know how it will work (particularly, given that it is serrated). It is quite large and heavy, however, so it can be a bit difficult to use if your hands are small.

BUY THE KNIFE! It's made with German high carbon stainless steel. I love fresh homemade sourdough bread, but cutting the loaf on baking day with my old bread knife was next to impossible. (Even after letting it cool.) I've been looking at this knife for months, maybe even years and it's been in my "Save for Later" cart. Finally took the plunge and bought it. IT'S AMAZING! SUPER SHARP. (Not safe for kids. Keep this one stored up high in the knife box it came in.) BUY IT! You'll thank me later.

We started getting big crusty loaves of sourdough bread, and our old thin bread knife wasn't up to slicing it. When I got this one, my husband was delighted with it (he does more slicing than I do.) It's long enough to cut the whole loaf. the curved part makes slicing through the crusty bottom no problem at all, and it is really sharp and can be kept that way. We both like the offset handle which makes cutting more comfortable. And the price is a great value.

Super sharp and a nice curve on the blade. I wouldn't recommend this to people who are afraid of knives or for children. It's a very good knife but I can see those who don't work with knives cutting themselves easily. For it's purpose it works flawlessly. Slices through hard crust and French baguette easily. Because of the curve in the blade you don't find yourself pushing down hard to finishing cutting through a hard crust. Extra points for being able to sharpen again which is why I bought this in the first place. Stuff spine and a solid handle.

OK. it's a bread knife. It slices bread. Normally I would not consider writing a review on such a utilitarian item, but I've got to say this knife really impressed me. My pet peeve with serrated knives is that they are almost impossible to sharpen once they eventually dull. This knife has serrations that match a standard sharpening rod, so it can be re-sharpened easily. Pure genius! Worth noting - I have been using it for months and it is still razor sharp, so I haven't had to sharpen it yet. It really does cut even dense, crusty loaves of bread effortlessly. The unexpected bonus was the ergonomics of this knife. It feels well balanced and the curved blade keeps your fingers well above the cutting board. The 10 inch blade allows you to cut through round, artisan loaves easily too. Overall, an excellent product.

Wow! I was hoping to get a bread knife that cut cleanly, but this exceeded all of my expectations. The combination of the slight curve and the serrations make this the best bread knife I have ever used. The smooth sides of the bread is nicer than store sliced and there are minimal crumbs broken off. Worth every penny and will be the knife I buy as gifts for friends.
