This camera is so unbelievable. It does what my wired Lorex and Blink cameras could not achieve. This vid is at 4:15am in pitch black dark. The video resolution is impressive and so is the audio, which is why I purchased it. I have horrible neighbors that do mischief in the dark. Well I now have proof to take to court! There’s so many features, like AI detection, full color night vision , super easy to connect to the internet and set up. And it’s all included without a subscription. There’s an ed slot on the camera. There is Cloud service for those who want it. Oh yeah there camera storage also although I can’t find out how much but I use an sad card . There’s an easy option to share/download your video. You can manually record if you like, scheduled recording. There’s an alarm that can be triggered by motion or manually. I don’t use that option. There’s just so many advance options that are FREE. I looked through Amazon for days and couldn’t find that option until I came across this. I’ve been sending night time videos to everyone I know. lol we’re going to replace the blink camera and donate them. I could go on and on. Definitely will buy again Update: 8/28/24 Today we had our first good wind and rain since I’ve installed this camera. After the rain, the live view freezes after 4 seconds and doesn’t detect motion like it did earlier today. When I try to record live, I get a message saying the recording is too short no matter how long the recording is seemingly recording but the timer isn’t changing at all. I’ll give it til morning to correct itself, but a surveillance camera that doesn’t work is of no value to me. It’s been like a week since Ive had it.

I bought two of these Tapo/TP-Link ColorPro outdoor cameras (C325WB) almost 2 years ago, mounted them outside, and they’ve been out there ever since. Bottom line: they’ve been great. What’s been good: Video quality is very good (2K QHD / 4MP) — the picture is clear and detailed, and it’s been easy to see what’s going on when you need to review footage. Color night mode is awesome — this is the feature that sets it apart. The ColorPro night vision gives you much more usable nighttime video than typical night vision. Outdoor durability — two cameras, nearly two years outside, and they’ve held up well. Storage options are flexible: It supports local microSD recording or cloud (Tapo Care), which is nice depending on how you want to set it up. Overall: If you want an outdoor camera with really strong video quality and excellent color night vision, this has been a great buy for me. I just wouldn’t pick it specifically for top-tier audio. Wired option (important detail): One thing I really like is that it can be run on a wired Ethernet connection, which can be more reliable than Wi-Fi. Just note: it’s not PoE, so you still need to power it the normal way. One downside The only thing I wish was better is the audio quality. It works, but it’s not as clear/high quality as I’d like compared to how good the video looks. It does have two-way audio, but audio is the weak point for me.

I recently installed two of these cameras. I wired one to a router and used Wifi for the other. The installations went well although the one installed over rough stucco took a little extra time to make sure the holes for the anchors were precisely drilled. The provided template didn't stick to stucco so I taped it to the wall and marked the holes in the stucco with a punch. The quality of the images is excellent and the app is fairly intuitive. My one issue occurs when I'm continuously streaming the image from either of the cameras to an iPad I bought specifically for that purpose. After a few minutes the image freezes and grays out with a message to "Tap to refresh." Tapping the screen does restore the image, but I can find nothing in the documentation, forums or FAQs that explains this issue. Is it a bug in the Tapo app? Is it a "feature?" All WiFi signals are good. I don't want to have to keep tapping the screen to monitor my cameras. Responses from TP-Link or other users are welcomed. Update August 11, 2023 I emailed TP-Link support about the problem I documented above. Their Technical Support team could not have been more responsive. Over a period of several weeks they asked me to collect and forward system logs from the camera (Micro SD card required which must be removed from the camera to access the logs) and logs from the app. They provided detailed instructions on how to collect the logs. At the end of that time they provided access to a beta version of the app to which they had added a fix, again providing instructions for accessing the beta. It worked without any interruption in viewing the cameras. I was told that the fix would be released in the Tapo 3.X app with no specific release date. However, I recently installed the latest release, 2.17.2 ("Fixed some bugs and improved stability.") which appears to have the fix included since I've experienced no "Tap to refresh" interruptions over several days. I'm changing my rating on the camera from 4 stars to 5. Great support! Update September 6, 2023 The Tapo 3.0 app (3.0.17) has been released.

This camera has excellent night vision abilities and a really good wide FOV. Setup - Straight forward and simple. Has plugin options for ethernet or wifi, ethernet was the way to go and super straight forward Quality - Picture quality is decent. Nothing exceptional but better than anything else in this price bracket. Night color vision is crazy good as the lens is f/1.0 App - The tapo app works perfectly fine. Nothing great but nothing bad. It could use more automation triggers for the cameras. NO SUBSCRIPTIONS is the big thing here. All AI abilities and 24x7 recording to SD card are free. There is little need for the cloud subscription unless you want image rich notifications and cloud storage. Camera also fully supports the H500 home base

Took a few days to really fine tune the settings and zones, and I can honestly say these cameras are fantastic. Quick installation and setup. Excellent photo and video quality. Nighttime color view is amazing. I can toggle the alarm and lights at will to scare deer out of my rose garden. Turned off motion and run just person/animal/car sensors to eliminate unwanted bug and wind triggers. Super pleased with the two I placed at my entry and driveway and going to order a third for my back porch just in case, I feel so much safer having eyes on the house and cars at all times!! And so happy that I don’t have to pay a subscription to store recordings!!

So the things you need to look for in a camera are: 1. Mounting style. The mount for this thing kind of sucks; the cable set is intended to run straight up the middle in the arm and into the wall/soffit, but the ball joint in there will create a severe pinch point on the cable bundle if you need certain angles depending on horizontal/vertical mounting. And the cable is captive in the mount due to bulbous connectors. It's just not very well thought out and I'm not certain how long the plastic will last outdoors. 2. Imager. The imager is actually pretty decent. HDR mode is more useful during the day to clear up the shadows. At night all it does is produce blobby smears. 3. Software. This camera has the really awkward distinction of pairing a pretty decent feature set with an infuriatingly bad interface. RTSP works out of the box and the edge AI actually works pretty well and it does look like a lot of thought has been put into the features and controls. However, I use the app daily and it's so badly designed it's not even funny. It wastes screen real estate, doesn't pick appropriate thumbnails, punishes you for missing a hard-to-hit ellipsis, still has "swipe" engaged while you're zoomed into a video trying to pan around, hiding video controls, "network is unstable try again later", illegible file naming (looks like seconds since epoch), merges too many events together, etc. The software is basically a hot mess. Lastly, the camera seems to have stability issues. They have a daily reboot feature, but they really should just fix their bugs. I'm in a position right now where I can't allow the camera to go down in order to debug the issue further, and support is... not as technical as they should be about this. In order to retrieve debug logs apparently you have to physically pull the SD card. So I guess if you have to get up on a ladder to physically pull the card then sucks to be you. Should be able to pull the log remotely. This camera is a good effort but it's kind of not ready for prime time. Update: July 2024, recent firmware version 1.1.17 is even less stable and seems to make the camera hard crash after around 24hrs. It's awkward that they don't even have a watchdog implemented. If your power is mounted such that you have to get up in the attic or on a ladder to reboot the device, well sucks to be you. Update 2: Same month, now somehow the imager has come loose inside the housing. The camera hasn't moved, however somehow a dark line which appears to be the circular boundary of the front lens housing is now visible in my picture. As predicted, the physical design/construction of this camera is questionable. Update 3: November 2024, update 1.2.2 is less stable and appears to introduce glitches with SD recording on top of that. Update 4: May 2025, update 1.3.4 lowered bitrate of the RTSP stream, possibly the recording stream as well. It looks like they cut it nearly in half. I guess they thought we wouldn't notice. The image quality is much worse and the AI detection is also negatively affected. It seems like they wanted to cut down on the bandwidth, but for my usage, the easiest way to cut down on bandwidth is shorten the post-even limit. (It currently records literally 1 minute after an event, which means if I have a 20 second event, the camera will produce a 80 seconds worth footage, which is kind of stupid.) Update 5: July 2025, update 1.3.6 introduces errors in the RTSP stream. This was a known problem with their other cameras, and it looks like they decided to propagate the bug to the ColorPro. Search for errrors like "SEI type 764 size xxx truncated at yyy". Update 6: September 2025, update 1.3.7 still has the RTSP stream error, however they changed it slightly. It might actually be slightly worse (more errors) now. Update 7: October 2025, update 1.3.8 still has the RTSP stream error. Update 8: I was reviewing my archival footage from the past year and noticed in the May update that they surreptitiously changed the OSD font. This is annoying if you're doing any careful image processing. They won't let you change the OSD location, but they will change the font size, so you literally have no control over any of this. Update 9: March 2025 Firmware 1.4.3 still produces non-conformant stream errors.

First, I've only had this camera installed in my barn for a day. But for the price, the Tapo ColorPro Wi-Fi Outdoor Camera works great. It was easy to set up, connect to the WiFi on the farm, and schedule times to record movement. Pros: Quick to install, easy to setup, easy to connect to WiFi, easy to install SD Card (I put a 256G in) color is excellent, night vision works great. Field of view is excellent. Don't need to sign up for paid Tapo cloud account to use. Cons: Only one device (Apple iPad or Android Device) can stream recordings at once. Tapo lacks clear definition regarding how many devices can stream. NO PC SUPPORT. No real instructions. Can't see number of connections to the camera.

Camera setup was easy and has some nice features like an option to use WiFi or Ethernet, geofencing, being able to alert you to specific occurrences such as a car detected, person detected, animal detected, and if someone crosses a defined area or line. It has an alarm, although not very loud but enough to let someone near it know they’re being recorded. There are also 2 LED lights for recording, but it’s not something that will light up anything (like the ground), even when set to 100% brightness, but is intended to enhance the video quality. I turned it off so it’s not obvious when it detects motion and is actively recording. You can also turn off the LED status light so it doesn’t call attention to it as much. The thing I don’t like is that the inside of the lens sometimes “fogs up”, even when mounted indoors, making it impossible to identify anything. It tends to clear up if I turn the camera off for a few minutes. Other times, in daylight when the lens isn’t foggy, the video isn’t bad. I have concerns it will get extra foggy should it be humid, cold, or raining. Overall it has nice features, but poor video (or perhaps this one is defective). I set the video resolution to the max of 2K and also tried HDR mode for increased clarity, so this was as good as it gets. Even at that, after dark with outside lights on, it’s impossible to identify someone 7’ below where the camera is mounted. UPDATE: The video has been clear after that first day or so. I’m thinking some moisture had gotten in and it just had to burn off in the sun. I added another photo of someone about 25’ out with a leaf blower, and the quality is pretty good. I would definitely recommend.

I also adapted the mounting system so that it can be attached to a **tripod or light stand**, making it easy to position wherever I need it. While I can't yet comment on its long-term durability since I haven't owned it for an extended period, it has performed very well so far. A câmera em si é uma boa câmera, a qualidade de imagem durante o dia é muito boa, mas a noite com muita baixa iluminação ela pixela a imagem e perde qualidade, com uma iluminação baixa ou pouca mas com pelo menos a iluminação de rua, ai a qualidade fica boa. É possível dar zoom na transmissão ao vivo, mas a imagem distorce muito por causa do vidro frontal gerando sombra na imagem. O software em si é bom, diferencia carros de pessoas e animais, mantendo uma qualidade de alerta bom caso vc escolha desativar algum alerta. A transmissão por Onvif para um NAS é feita por configuração a parte pelo aplicativo do celular, nao tem muita explicação no manual nem no app vai ter que conta com sorte e tentativa e erro. O ângulo de abertura da lente é bem padrão, não tem diferença para uma foscam ou intelbras, eu esperava um ângulo maior pelo tipo da lente. A conexão é diferente, ao invés de escanear um qrcode com os dados da rede vc se conectar na rede wireless dela e configura pelo app qual rede wireless ela vai usar, ou usa cabo de rede mesmo, uma coisa legal é poder configurar um IP fixo, parece bobagem mas uma boa parte de câmeras de segurança ou são DHCP ou você precisa reservar o IP no DHCP. O plug de energia é tipo americano, mesmo pq ela veio importada, isso nao é um problema.
