This thing is solid... and fast!
This is blazing fast if your motherboard supports PCI 5.0. A couple things to keep in mind, it has it's own heatsink. I think you probably can remove it and use your own but from what I read it is a good one and does the job, so I just used the built in one. At first I had some issues getting it to sit properly on my motherboard and then realized there was a layer of compound on the back of it, which this has one built in, so once I removed that it was fine. The only negative issue I have had is that I can't get the crucial software to set the over provisioning. It keeps telling me to do it manually in drive manager. I think it is worth the price, it is fast, but keep in mind on real world experience, if you already have an m.2 you are likely not to notice a ton of difference unless you are copying a large file, normal day to day use is similar, actually my Sabarent Rocket 4 had better random read write speeds. I posted that benchmark also. But if you want the latest cutting edge and fastest... this is your drive. I also used the EaseUS Partition Master to clone my windows 11 os with zero issues. Worked perfectly, entire system cloned in about 9 minutes. I can't recommend that software enough...

Great value for your money
I purchased a new computer and it only came with a single 1TB SSD.. Considering I'm a massive gamer I knew immediately it was going to be an issue.. I settled on an External drive with a fair bit of memory 8 TB's and that filled my needs for a while, but I noticed that some games had stuttering and lag, which considering the specs on my system shouldn't have been happening.. RTX4090, 64 GB of ram, etc etc etc etc.. So I narrowed down the likely causes to the External HDD, so I knew I needed to remedy that situation asap.. After searching around I settled on the Crucial T700,, highly rated, and reviewed.. The price is hefty but gaming isn't a cheap hobby, if you want to play like a pro, you gotta pay like a pro.. The install was super easy, plug and play pretty much, the only issue arose from trying to format the drive for use.. after a half hour and numerous youtube videos I discovered that I had forgotten to name the drive, after feeling like an idiot, I had my harddrive installed and ready to roll.. Download speeds have never been faster, I've always had issues with steam download times, normally stuff that my internet speeds should have done in minutes would take an hour or more, with the Crucial it's down to taking minutes again.. I honestly couldn't be happier with this product.. If had another slot on my board I'd pick up another and never have to worry about uninstalling and installing games again.. Extremely happy with this purchase..

Loving this, Very fast!
Replaced an SSD that was giving me errors and acting weird after a Intel's killer network software kept randomly crashing my computer. Got some hardware testing software to confirm and wanted to replace before things got worse. I was able to clone the drive using PC cloning software to transfer my operating system, files and settings, beware for hardware cloners, they are good for connecting to your PC using USB but they might cap the space on the new drive to the same space as the old drive. Anyways windows 11 loads a little faster than my old SSD, talking more things opening a few seconds earlier and gaming is amazing on this. My old drive was an Samsung SSD with around half the speed. Files transfers seem to be a lot faster as well, I set all my draw distances and settings to max and usually no hickups with game loading. Today I played GTA 4, the game loaded in about 20-30 seconds, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Worth the price if you the best of the best
This ssd is insanity fast its super worth it if you are looking for speed and fast downloads if you have good internet. Now I have read comments that it says that it really runs hot but isn't truly true if you pc haves a lot fans like my case. I have pc i9-13900kf with rtx 4090 and ddr5 and most importantly with big case and 14 fans.. yes 14 fans that gives me a lot airflow so my entire system chill. Now after couple months of using it this ssd i really recommend buy it without heatsink cuz is really bad and cheap if your motherboard thermal pads I recommend to put ssd under bottom so it can better cooling cuz if you put it on top where is all the heat accumulated it would go up 50° C so it's better under bottom where it can get better cooling and my system have E-ATX Msi meg z790 ace and this ssd stays between 38° c and when is fully loaded with downloads or playing heavy games it go max 40° or 42°..

Super fast if you want to pay for it.
I had built myself a new Ryzen 7 7700X back in March to replace my 8 year old Intel system. I wanted reasonably priced cutting edge parts and it went together great and is fast, I don't really game much but am a serious computer geek. I bought a gen 4 SSD but planned on a gen 5 once they were at a bit of reasonable price. So when this got to its lowest on prime days I picked one up. It is working great and I do have to admit day to day I don't notice much difference as both were super fast but I on top the curve so am happy at a reasonable cost for new tech. The 2TB Solidigm became my data drive.

Excellent speed on desktop but not on PS5
Out of curiosity, I tried to put this SSD on my PS5. After reading some comments that gen 5 SSD would work but with gen 4 speed on ps5 since PS5 SSD is gen 4. First, T700 heatsink is so huge that protrude from PS5 SSD bay. Installation is quite simply like many other regular SSD with heat sink. Once power on, PS5 picked up new SSD and ask to format. Surprisingly, read speed on T700 in PS5 shows up less than PS5 acceptance of 5500 MB. I have rebooted the system and reformatted 3 times. I was expecting the I would see max gen 4 speed of close to 7800 MB, but I kept getting 4300 MB range or less. I played a game and run fine but SSD inside PS5 gets hot. I would stick to regular gen 4 SSD for PS5 from now.

WARRANTY DENIED FOR REMOVED STICKER
Absolutely stay away from Crucial products. I bought two of these. One failed, I sent it in for RMA. They are denying my warranty because: 1. I Removed the removable heatsink so I could install it in my motherboard that provides its own heatsink 2. In the process of removing the heatsink, one of the stickers came off. They are claiming that REMOVING THE STICKER “can impact the integrity of the drive and may affect warranty eligibility”. They further claimed that they need the sticker to verify the serial number of the drive, as if they somehow don’t know about SMART reporting software. Absolutely ridiculous. Both me and the repair center are in California where I have strong consumer protections. Crucial knows full well that in California, they have to *actively prove* that the “modifications” in question are the reason for the broken drive. Terrible company. Terrible business practices. Terrible drive. The heatsink they include isn’t even good — my other drive (which still has the original heatsink installed) regularly sits at >70 C, even in my desktop-ATX case full of noctua fans. Will never buy from Crucial again. Glad they are leaving the consumer RAM market too. Good riddance.

great speeds
excellent drive that runs well with excellent speeds. doesnt run excessively hot which is helped by the provided heat sink.

Fast but beware of thermal paste application
Quick drive, mine thermal throttled a lot with the stock heatsink. Replaced with a new one and turns out they'd misplaced the thermal paste so it wasn't in contact with the chips on the pcb so if there is very high temperatures at idle check the thermal paste

Very fast M.2 drive!
Installed this drive into a Gen 5 slot on my motherboard and saw a 40% higher score than my Gen 4 drive. The included heat sink is big but didn't inhibit installation. It did a good job of keeping the drive "cool" under load. Gen5 drives run much hotter than Gen 4. At rest my drive was 54C and under stress it was 65C. Very happy with my purchase.
