Don't Pee On My Leg And Tell Me Its Raining: America's Toughest Family Court Judge Speaks Out

This book has made me think very deeply about the world we are creating and about personal responsiblity. Some of the stories in this book are shocking and shoudnt be read lightly. I wasnt quite expecting that, but learned alot nonetheless. Judge judy can smell a lie like a blood-hound and only a fool would try to out-run her!

It appears the U.S. welfare system is just as messed up as that of the UK and here Judge Judy takes a very critical look at case studies that illustrate how it needs a major rehaul. The teenage arsonist who had been medicated from age 2 by an alcoholic, unable-to-cope single mum...the murderer who demands that his rights be respected and the grandma of his kids who now cares for them since he killed their mother, bring them to visit him in jail...people scamming the system, criminals getting off on a technicality, we read about it all the time. Here in a well written expose, Judge Judy concludes with 'if someone's social condition is caused by their own irresponsibility, they are in no position to demand that we assume their self inflicted burdens'. A welcome change to all the liberal claptrap that surrounds us

Bought for my wife..who tells me it is an excellent, albeit quite serious read - than she was expecting. Great value

recommended reading for every parent and judge.Bending over backwards to accommodate everyone has seen some basic truths thrown out with the bath water...particularly the need for personal responsibility, and for parents to realise the you cannot cover for junior all the time-he has to learn from his mistakes.Written in a direct style, with typical Brooklyn Jewish humour, it's a riot yet thought provoking. Well done Judy!

Judy has so much common sense. In this book she tells you of cases she has dealt with over the years she has been a judge. Some of them tragic, some of the downright ridiculous. She has a no nonsense approach to resolving differences whilst looking at cases with a human approach. Judy offers advice on how the government could save millions with a few simple strokes. This could also be transferred to Britain too. Read it in a day or so.

Ok if you like political ramblings....nothing like what I expected having been a fan of her tv shows.

Judge Judith Sheindlin's book "Don't pee on my leg and tell me i'ts raining" is a very powerful and truthful book on the American Criminal Justice System. Judge Sheindlin let's go of all judicial restraint and let's loose her tongue on the dismally failing American Justice System. Judge Sheindlin provides ample accounts of her 'in-court' experiences and relates those experiences to current issues that America faces. She provides some remedies to problems which she see's in America as a Jurist. Some politicians in America would benefit from reading the Honorable Judge Sheindlin's book. She is truly a wonderful, inspirational rolemodel and 'her' America is the America which will see stabilisation and perhaps a 'return to normality'Truly and insightful read! A MUST READ!5*s
