Kashmiri Chilli Powder | Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder 500g~ All Natural | Premium Quality | Indian Origin

I pretty much live on 'curries' and have tried many varieties of Kashmiri chilli powder. This one is a bit hotter than some other offerings (eg TRS, Natco) but really excels in aroma, flavour and colour. It has become a staple in my spice cupboard.I was surprised to read the review claiming that it is adulterated with food colouring and made my own tests. The natural colour of red chillies comes largely from the carotenone capsanthin which has limited solubility in water but is freely soluble in (amongst other organic solvents) alcohol. Food colourings in contrast are in general freely soluble in water, and this distinction provides the basis for the simple test recommended by the Food Standards and Safety Authority of India. The photos accompanying this review show approximately 5 grams of the powder steeped in water and ethanol respectively. It is clear that the rich colour imparted to food by this spice is not due to water-soluble colourants.

I have a traditional curry recipie book. When I read Kashmiri Chilli Powder I thought, chilli powder is chilli powder and put in the usual stuff from the supermarket, all the curries turned out eye wateringly hot and didn't look like the pictures in the book.I didn't realise that Kashmiri Chilli Powder is no where near as hot as usual chilli powder and additionaly is a vibrant red colour. Now my curries look like the pictures and we can all eat them without crying and sweating! The pack has a great seal so stays fresh and is great value. Recomended +100

Lovely and spicy

Made a Chicken Curry............this powder added a gentle heat & a rich red colour........lovely.

Fans of chilli will love this

Wow, a chilli powder that is what it claims to be. Adds wonderful deep colour and light heat to Indian recipes. Just what a Kashmiri chilli powder should do. Too many fakes out there unfortunately.....but not this one. Worth every penny.

This is the best Kashmiri chilli I have tried and I have tried loads. The flavour is awesome and comes through perfectly. It’s nice to get the flavour of the chilli and not just the heat. I’m addicted to this stuff! It’s great as a marinade, gives a vibrant red colour and a lovely warming heat. Try it if you can. Hopefully it will be back in stock soon as mine is nearly done ! I cook for five people everyday and find two teaspoons give enough heat while still getting the flavour.

This is really good regarding taste , colour and value , no doubt will buy again when finished

Dieses Kashmiri Cilli Pulver schmeckt sehr gut. Ich werde es wieder kaufen.

This is the first authentic Kashmiri chili powder that I have encountered after trying different brands. This is mild, gives nice color and aroma to food as Kashmiri chili powder intended to be. The other brands I have tried are more spicy and even though they are red in color (not sure if they add color to regular chili powder as it’s spicy with different aroma), does not give me same results as this brand. There might be other authentic brands that I am not aware of, but my search stops here, going to re-order this brand from now on.
