I’m OBSESSED with backdrop!
I’ve always used Behr and Sherwin Williams, and they’re good paints and do the job. But I got a targeted ad for paints when I was remodeling my house, and I spontaneously ordered a few samples from backdrop that I liked.I was trying to find a muted sage green for my kitchen cabinets, and I tried sample after sample from Behr and SW, but none of them were quite right, whether too green or too gray, and they all clashed with my rust colored backsplash. When I threw the Sage sample up it instantly tied the whole room together and it looked gorgeous. I purchased the paint, and I’m a fan for life now. I added some copper hardware and it looks stunning.Backdrop’s paint is really thick and it goes on very smoothly and stretches a long way. I’m a nit picker and always do three coats instead of two because the slightest difference in saturation bugs me, but I really only needed 2 when I used this paint, when starting on a thoroughly saturated white surface. I’ve since purchased their Studio Hours color for my closet doors, and I love it too. It’s pretty expensive. I didn’t think I’d ever bother shelling out for “fancy” paint, but honestly the house is looking so gorgeous. It’s really worth it. There’s some colors that backdrop makes that are a little bold for me, but their muted colors are just so spot on. They feel cozy and comfortable, and I love just laying on the couch after a long day looking at how beautiful my house looks.I would definitely recommend ordering the samples first. They’ll send you a sticker swatch for 3 bucks, which is a good way to go when the ticket is this high.If anyone’s curious, my color palette for the house ended up being Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, Sherwin Williams Alabaster (both for walls), Sherwin Williams Extra White (for trim), Backdrop Saged exterior/cabinet paint (for cabinets), and Backdrop Studio Hours (for doors). It’s a muted, warm palette and gives me desert vibes. I love it. I paired it with a thrifted Moroccan rug with the same colors, and it’s colorful and homey but not too loud.If you’re going to use Saged and you’re not sure what white looks good with it, through trial and error I can tell you Sherwin Williams Alabaster is gorgeous with it. There’s probably a backdrop off white that looks nice with it too but I didn’t want to spend too much money trying to figure it outDisclaimer, I’m not being paid by any of these companies. Just wanted to share what worked for me since it was such a pain in the butt figuring it out, it might help somebody else :)

High Quality and I will be getting more of this paint
I've done a lot of home painting over the years and I really liked this paint. It is very thick, like honey and extremely highly pigmented. I do have a tip because of thickness: You have to be a little more careful with brush strokes because of the thickness and the fast dry time. I had some stick out after 1 coat dried but the good news is just a light going over, fixed it right up. One thing about the high pigment, and this will probably change between colors because pigments have different properties, but the green here is a bit staining. What I mean is if you get a drop of it on like the white trim and wipe it immediately you will still have a little light green on it. However, this paint had almost no drip and was the easiest to clean up (me and equipment) I've ever had. I was going to redo the trim anyway so no problem. I am definitely going to buy and try different colors for other rooms. I will update on durability when I'm confident in the review for it.**Revising to say after trying Kismet over a few walls of different colors I would recommend 2 coats as the maker does as well. The 1st wall I did only needed a light second coat but it would be good to plan for 2 full coats.

What is that smell?!?
The color is nice, the paint is good quality but WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SMELL?!? It literally smells like feces or decaying organic matter!I grew up around family that did real estate investing. And they were constantly revamping and painting homes. I LOVE The smell of paint, it brings back childhood memories. This is NOT what paint normally smells like. Sssooooo, my question is: what the hell is that smell?!? It’s awful! We used a different color of this paint and it didn’t have that smell. Only this color did. I color is beautiful by the smell is AWFUL.

Stunning color
The only reason this has 4 stars is because it took alot to cover, and it was very pricy for 2 quarts. But this color is so stunning I HAD to have it and painted a wall in my kitchen. When the sun hits this I can't even explain how gorgeous it is.
