Great gloves. These are for those below 45 degree days. They are very warm and protect your hands from wind and mild rain. I haven't tried them in really wet conditions, but they seem like they would be fine. I wear a medium in the Pearl Izumi fingerless, so I ordered a medium in these, but I think I would prefer a small more tighter fit since they are so thick and have several layers. I have a thinner set of gloves for warmer days since these would be too warm in temperatures above 45 and sunny. These are warm and thick gloves, so it is hard to do anything else in them; like, use your phone or use a tissue. But, that's the trade off in 15 degree windy weather. (They do have a nose wipe fleece area!) Highly recommend if you like the gel pads on gloves.

Great For Cold Weather
I received these gloves today, so I had to give them a test drive. The temperature was 30F and I biked about 2 hours in a Forest Preserve. My hands and fingers stayed nice and warm; if I had my regular gloves on I normally wear, my fingers would have been cold to numb at this temperature. The materials used are high quality. The fit is nice and snug. The gloves work extremely well with shifting, braking, etc. I'm glad I made this purchase.UPDATE: 10/22/13 After wearing these gloves in winter a full season, I have found they are not as warm as I thought. My hands get cold when I'm out in the 20 degree range past one hour. I wear these gloves with liners when it is in the 20's to mid thirties. However, the glove is quality and is great for biking, just not in the lower temps.

So far so good
These gloves fit nice and snug. I wasn't sure what size to order, but I figured I have small hands and feet (I'm 5'7 and wear a size 7 shoe) compared to most my lady friends of a similar height, so I decided to go with a small.I took them out for a test ride today and I was very happy with them. Temperatures were in the low to mid 40's and the winds were calm today. My hands were kept nice and warm and I was able to enjoy my ride.I am only giving a 4 star since I haven't had the chance to test these gloves in colder weather or over time.

but will do just fine otherwise. I have small-medium sized-hands (I'm 5'6)
Wouldn't rate them appropriate for very cold (Canadian) winter temperatures much below -5 Celsius, but will do just fine otherwise. I have small-medium sized-hands (I'm 5'6), and find the medium a bit snug.

Nice Gloves but a Bit Bulky
These gloves were purchased for cycling. They are a bit bulky but I could have lived with that had I been able to swipe my Samsung Galaxy Android cell phone screen with the fingertip but my phone was not responsive to the touch from these gloves. I was looking for a glove that I would not have to remove to answer my phone and use its' touch features. These had to go back.

Great gloves but NOT winter riding gloves.
These are very nice gloves in the sense that they are beautifully made, ergonomically good, with nice feel but they are not good enough for our freezing Minnesota winters. They are good for about 5 mins. then you start feeling the cold and begin losing function of your fingers not long after that.I'd say that they are fall-early winter gloves but that is about how far as I would go; YMMV.

Pearl Izumi Does it Again!
These were compared to Specialized, Craft and Gore. They all rate about equal in quality, so just find the right fit and you will be good any brand you choose! I Chose Pearl Izumi as they had the best price at the time, and they work great! Previously I wore Specialized and my wife wore Gore, we both love our new Pearl Izumi's!

Good for really cold
These are warmer than expected. Great for really cold and not so much for temps in 40s or above. They fit well but a little bulky.

Warm
Haven't used yet as weather is not that cold. They are going to be quite warm so might be overkill here in SW England. As to waterproofness, same thing. Maybe in December or January I'll get to use them. They are a bit thick so I hope I won't have trouble operating brake levers. Nice quality from Pearl Izumi. Great price, too.
