In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

ASICS Gel Dominion volleyball shoes hit the mark
Got these for my daughter as she started playing club volleyball at 12... still in GREAT shape 1 year later, although I've got to replace them as her toes are right up to the front of the shoe now... fit was as expected, great cushioning, and she loved the diva blue (and many of her teammates ended up getting the same shoes as they all liked them). Would definitely buy again!

Cute shoes
So far so good. I bought these to replace my old ones. Love the color.Unlike Mizuno shoes (which run a bit narrow), Asics shoes feel like they are made on a slightly wider side, which is perfect for my feet.

Happy Daughter
Bought these shoes for my daughter and she is very pleased with them. She has now worn them for volleyball for 4 weeks now and says they are great, comfortable shoes.

Looks Great Feels Ok
I've played volleyball for several years and have had many pairs of volleyball shoes and although these were gorgeous, they were really stiff even after breaking them in. They didn't have a lot of cushion either, but they did have really great traction. Overall, I would only recommend purchasing if looks are your primary focus

So far so good!
Love them so far but only worn once! I have had other asics similar to this style so I was hoping these would accommodate my wide feet and they do! I love how they fit. I would recommend ordering half a size smaller for someone with regular width feet.

A bit bigger than the typical ASICS
I stated that these shoes fit somewhat large, but I have to say that I purposely bought these in a size larger than I normally wear. The reason for this is because every other pair of ASICS shoes I have purchased have fit small! I recently bought another pair of Asics VB shoes in the same size that fit perfectly ASICS Women's Gel Rocket 7 Volley Ball Shoe,White/Silver,7.5 M US . (I usually wear a size 7 but buy ASICS in a size 7.5) I also have another pair of ASICS running shoes that I got in a size 7 that are too short in the toe. These shoes are nice, but I think my other pair are more comfortable - these feel stiffer and a little wider in the toe box. Hopefully they will get a little more comfortable with more use. On the plus side, I can wear a thicker pair of socks in them.

The sole is hard and unforgiving and made my feet hurt.
They had no cushioning or suppoert. Although they looked cute, they were unacceptable for the type of high intensity workouts I do in the gym as a group exercise instructor. I would not buy the dominion model again.

Good width
The width is great, but does not provide great cushioning or arch support. It's hard to find volleyball shoes that are a little wider at the toes. It is great for racquetball since it prevents me from sliding around the court.

Slightly larger than I'd like, but wear thicker socks and tie up tight to compensate. Perhaps wider design than I'm used to?
