Excellent, Durable Volleyball Shoes
These are very high quality volleyball shoes, and are well worth the price. Before buying these, I tried on a few other volleyball shoes, including the Wave Lightning RX2 (also made by Mizuno). The main reason I was attracted to the RX2's was because of the lower price when compared to the Tornadoes. I liked several things about the RX2's, and there's a few things I feel they do even better than the Tornadoes (which I will explain below), but in the end I was swayed by the much higher quality and durability of the Tornado shoe. The construction of the shoes is extremely solid: I have been playing with them for about 2 months now, and they have held up exceptionally, with only minor, superficial wear showing on the tips of the toes (which is to be expected when you do dives). The seams are all of the highest quality, and of the outer portion of the shoe is covered in a durable rubber-mesh combination. One of my favorite things about this shoe is the mesh that is featured above and beside the toe area. The location of the mesh not only keeps your feet cool, but also prevents creases from forming (on the RX2's, this area of the toe did NOT have mesh, and when I walked or jumped in them, the bending of the shoes almost immediately caused a crease to form on the outer surface of the toe). The grip on these things is great. While wearing them, I feel confident on my approaches and take-offs, and am able to make quick, nimble maneuvers around the court. HOWEVER, I found the grip on the RX2's to actually be better than it is on these shoes (this is one of the few areas where the RX2's surpassed the Tornadoes). Still, the difference was not great enough for me to forgo the MUCH higher quality and durability of the Tornado shoes. As far as weight is concerned, the Tornadoes do feel a little heavy when you pick them up, and I found the RX2's to be much lighter them. But with volleyball shoes, lighter does not always mean better. These shoes are nowhere near heavy enough to affect my jumping ability, and I never feel them to be "clunky" or cumbersome when I'm on the court. The extra weight is basically just the result of the extra materials adding to their durability. While the RX2's may weigh less, they are (like I said) far less durable, likely due to the fact that they're mostly made of mesh and other lightweight materials, as opposed to the tough rubberized construction of the Tornadoes. Finally, these shoes fit wonderfully and feel great on my feet. One important thing to note, though, is that these shoes are slightly narrower than most other shoes I've worn. When I first tried them on, I was slightly alarmed by the way I had to "work" my feet into them. Once I got them on, though, I was amazed by the way they fit my feet like a glove. You really notice this when you get on the court and start playing: there's absolutely no side-to-side wiggle room, which is great for mobility on the court as well as protecting your ankles from the rolls and twists you can suffer from ill-fitting shoes. In recap, these are great, high-quality shoes that will last a long time. They may not be as light weight or inexpensive as some of the other Volleyball shoes in Mizuno's line, but they're BY FAR the most durable. I highly recommend these shoes!

very expensive but very worth it
I have had the shoes for about a month and I am still getting used to them. They still have places where they haven't quite formed to my foot perfectly but ive time I know they will. Very light weight and good traction along with back and forth motion support. Great for vertical jumping and have good spring. Also they look insanely awesome and will stand out from everyone else with heir white black and Gold trims and details. Also a big thing is the ventilation holes throughout the bottom of the shoes that keep your feet cool as a cucumber. So I'm just thankful to have these shoes which are the best by far on the market

Great shoes. Stable, light, and solid.
This was my first pair of volleyball shoes and I find myself fully satisfied with the purchase. Not having tried other volleyball shoes, my only basis for comparison would be the running/cross-training shoes I've worn during play. Compared to those, these shoes are about the same weight and size. My sole rests flatter on these than other new shoes I've worn. The most noticeable difference at least compared to ordinary shoes is that the outsides of my feet rest much higher than normal. This makes it so that ankle inversions are all but impossible, which is quite nice. The grip is great in all directions and the springiness and support when jumping/landing is not noticeably different than with other shoes. Overall, it's a comfortable pair of shoes out of the box that suits its job description.

Looks great and were great as long as they held together
These are great for volleyball / wallyball as long as they hold together. I also like that they are slightly narrow.I used them for about 6 months or so and now the sole at the heel has gotten loose. That is bad for what is supposed to be a quality shoe. I have no idea if I were just unlucky.

Worth it
I bought these shoes in March for my final high school volleyball season which consisted of a daily two hour beating on these shoes. They performed beautifully and I do not regret the purchase.I previously had the Mizuno RX2s which were good shoes but had some problems, mainly in terms of durability. They were a solid pair of volleyball shoes with pretty good grip and they were VERY light. However, they kind of fell apart. There are loose strings everywhere and some of the trim pieces became worn or fell off. That's the difference between the RX2s and the Tornado 8s: durability. The Tornado 8s are a little heavier--but only by a couple ounces which isn't really noticeable during play--but that extra weight goes into the build quality. These shoes look and feel as good as they did the day I bought them. They're significantly more substantial and supportive than the RX2s (and probably the RX3s), plus they last a lot longer. So if you play once or twice a week, by all means save the money and go for the cheaper Mizuno models, they're great shoes, but if you're a serious volleyball player or if you just want that extra bit of quality and durability, buy the Tornado 8s.

Awesome shoes
I normally wear a size 10 women's shoe, but women's volleyball sneakers are too narrow for me. I opted to getting a men's shoe instead because of the default wider shoe. I got them in size 8.5. When I first put them on, they felt really snug around the wider part of my foot. I wore them around the house a couple of times to stretch out the leather. By day 3 of wearing them, they were good to go. I've now worn them through a volleyball tournament and a couple of practices, and they are comfortable and supportive. For the last two years, I had a pair of Asic volleyball sneakers, but I found after every practice/tournament, my knees were really achy. I wore the same Asic sneakers for my first tournament this year, and my knees and back were so sore I needed to find new sneakers. By the next weekend, I had these Mizuno sneakers and did not experience knee/back pain afterwards.
