fav lip balm. it’s pigmented but still sheer so you can swipe a little on for a little tint, or apply a lot and get a vivid color. it’s so good because there’s actually a color payoff and isn’t just a transparent, light color on the lips. fig jam is a darker, less saturated/vibrant, juicy red but like I said it’s sheer so you can build it up as much as you want !! smell is a faint apple scent, sweet but not enough that you can smell it while you’re wearing it.

Really good quality lip balm, I have been wanting the glow by auric ones but the price was steep, I think these are just as good.

It has a light feeling. This has replaced laneige lip mask for me. The color that I got it nicely pigmented.

To preface, I don’t believe that items should get poor reviews just because of an allergic reaction (which I had). Allergic reactions are just misfortunate events where something wasn’t suiting my skin, and of course the brand can’t please or satisfy everyone. It’s mostly my fault for not checking the ingredients. The stars docked off from the review will not be for my allergic reaction. I will touch upon this again later after the actual review for the product. Color: I got fig, and I was kind of disappointed by it. The color in the swatch online compared to the one in real life on my hand is pretty accurate. However, it is incredibly sheer. Even if you layer it a lot it will not get too opaque, and you don’t even want to do that because then the balm will start to feel really heavy on your lips. Because of its sheerer nature, it didn’t look as good on my lips. I have pretty pale lips with a lot of blue and purple in them, and so that meant the balm was more of a cool-toned mauve on me rather than the warm-toned pink I was promised, but that’s because it’s a sheer balm and I have cooler-toned lips. Still, it’s pretty sad. 3/5 Shine: Super super super shiny. It looks like glass on your lips. 5/5 Smell: The smell is probably my favorite thing about it. It smells like synthetic strawberries, like strawberry candies. I personally adore these kind of smells, but if you can’t handle it then it’s understandable. It’s very comparable to the Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tints in terms of smell, so if you’ve tried it and like it you’ll like the smell of these tints too. 5/5 Flavor: This is an unflavored product. Packaging: I think a pot is good for the formula. It’s not the most convenient or sanitary, but the formula is so soft and melty that if you put it in a tube it’ll just melt everywhere upon contact with your lips and get super messy and breakable. I use a wand or my fingers, but I can only use it basically once a day at the beginning of the day. I apply it when I first apply makeup and then I apply a different product later throughout the day because I don’t want to be carrying a wand and mirror around with me all day or digging my hands into it after going out and about. I’m just really careful about hygiene. This really limits the product’s usability to me. I thought that I would be able to handle the packaging at first and be careful to carry a little plastic wand everywhere with me to reapply, but in actuality it’s impractical and I’m too lazy to sit there and have everyone wait for me to reapply my lip jam after eating versus quickly swiping something. 2/5 Color and Shine Performance: As a tinted balm, the color doesn't last as long on your lips. Eat or drink anything and it’s all coming off. Thankfully, since it’s such a sheer balm, it doesn’t really leave any lip prints on cups and straws. The shine doesn’t last that long either. My biggest issue with this is that after half an hour or so, the color starts settling into your fine lines, and now every line on your lips is accentuated. It does not look good because there’s just a ton of color deposited into those lines too, so it looks extra dark. You have to smack your lips and rub them together a lot to get the color to be even again, but then that also runs the risk of just rubbing the color off entirely. 2/5 Moisture Performance: Since it’s hydration is a selling point, I thought I’d review that as well. Prior to getting an allergic reaction, I would say the lip jam is actually really hydrating! I’ve had it for a few months, and I probably use it 2x-3x a week. My usage was very sporadic, and each time I found that my lips stayed hydrated. I never worried about this drying out my lips (at first). I think that if you read through the next part about my allergic reaction and go, “this doesn’t sound at all like how my lips have/will have reacted”, go ahead and get this for the hydration because it’s a very nice balm! 5/5 Allergic reaction: So, as mentioned before, this is really my fault for not reading the ingredients. This product uses a lot of fruit extracts to boost hydration, but the extracts they use happen to also have exfoliating properties. If you’ve ever used the Laneige Sleeping Mask like myself and found that after a time of consistent usage, your lips were destroyed, AVOID this lip jam. I have chronically dry and sensitive lips, and I was really excited at first to find a colored product that actually hydrated my lips rather than dry them out. However, little did I know they were also exfoliating my lips the whole time, and just a couple days ago they became so overly exfoliated that I had dry, cracked, bleeding lips and it was so severe that the dryness reached the inside of my mouth/lips too. I know it’s because of the lip jam because this was the only product on my lips the day I had the severe reaction besides Vaseline (which was used to fix my lips). I also just tried it on again earlier today. I had a different, much thicker balm underneath (that is tried and true and saves my lips all the time) and I had a light layer of the lip jam on top and only in the center of my lips to give me a pop of color, and next thing I know my lips were very red, irritated, and itchy. I had to immediately take that off and reapply the lip balm I had underneath the lip jam, and now my lips are feeling much better. Again, this does not mean that the lip jam is a bad product. Clearly, it was highly compatible with others, and it’s likely that most people will enjoy this lip jam as my allergy and sensitivity is a bit rarer. However, if you think you have highly sensitive, chronically dry lips, and you can relate to what I’ve been saying, I think it’s best that you try a different product. Here are all the lip products with exfoliating properties that I’ve used and had the same reaction I described above (the reaction usually comes in about 2-4 months after consistent use because it takes time for my lips to finally decide it’s had enough). I’m addicted to this beautiful lip balm! I purchased this in fig, and It smells fruity and has such a beautiful color! Doesn’t feel sticky and applies smoothly. I’ll definitely buy more colors!

The color fig jam is beautiful and very glossy. While this product is hydrating it doesn’t last long. I definitely needed to reapply every hour. I would prefer a tube and applicator. They put it in a very small plastic container which is the cheapest type of packaging available. I did like this glass but at the price point it really isn’t worth it
