Can it be used on the underside of a car ?

I have used it under the back bumper on the metal which was a bit rusty. Wire brushed and cleaned it first though. Worked well. Would imagine it would be ok underneath too as long as any underseal was removed and you were back to metal.

Can this be painted over gloss on a garage door?

I've only used it to paint a wrought iron gate. Used a wire brush to remove any rust or old paint and it had an excellent finish. Couldn't say if it would have the same finish on a garage door.

Do I need to prime first if I am painting shower frame with this metal paint?

No as it's a primer rust killer and top coat in one. Just remove any loose flacking original coverings befor using this.

why is it advertised as smooth black and change to satin at the checkout

I guess because rather than drying to a hammered finish this paint dries smooth. I would write that the satin finish is actually a Demi gloss.
