Painless, Simple to Use, Works for Sensitive Skin - Worth the Investment
Summary: Pros: The product is absolutely amazing! * Easy to Use * Quick and 99% painless (nothing horrible, see details for more info) * Effective * Very responsive * Easy to set up and hold * Pretty clear instructions and recommendations * Multiple Settings * Pretty Color and a nice box * Great for sensitive skin * Works in nearly ALL areas * Effective against somewhat coarse hair (such as leg hair) Down Sides: * May be somewhat time-consuming for people who may not have set times for skin care and have a busy life. * The light is BRIGHT!! You have to use the glasses provided or something darker, also don't have others in the room without eye protection as it can be seen across the room. * Somewhat noisy but it's not too bad. (A small "quiet" vacuum is about the sound level.) _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Detailed Review: I was on the fence about it, due to several reasons. For one, I have extremely sensitive skin to the point that I have to use specific soaps and products otherwise it breaks out or just tears. My skin is delicate but my hair is somewhat coarse, grows fast, and is stubborn. It was a pricy investment I wasn't sure would work. That being said, I went ahead and got it and I'm so glad I did. I do have a very hectic life and forget simple things often, so setting a schedule to use it has been my only real issue, which is on me not the product. Now, I have used it (so far) on my legs/thighs, somewhat bikini line, hands/wrist area, arms, underarms, and face. (Skip down to results if you don't have sensitive skin or concerns about how your skin will react...and feel lucky <3) ~*~ Products I have used Before ~*~ Just to give a thorough review (as I didn't see this in any other reviews) Previous products I have tried and how my body handled them: * Nair (regular, extra strength, sensitive skin, creams, foams, pretty much every variation) - Effect: Chemical burns even when using less than the recommended time, skin tearing, hair still very much present though a good bit was removed. Due to the chemical burns, I stopped using any of these. * Waxing creams, gels, strips - Effect: Skin tearing and extreme irritation. Sometimes hair was pretty much completely removed but at the cost of removing my skin as well. * Razers and a plethora of shaving creams/gels/ Pinterest and Tiktok recipes (I can't even cover all of them but nearly every Venus line, men's razors, and pretty much anything you can find at Walmart, especially the ones for sensitive skin) - Effects: Skin irritation, some tearing, breakouts, and hair the next day........ ~*~ Finally THIS Product Results ~*~ Again, I have a hectic schedule so I have not been able to use it as recommended, however, the little bit I have used has shown promise. My legs, wrist, and hands have spots or strips that don't grow as fast after 2-4 uses over the span of a month (definitely wayyyy less than recommended for results). I was worried about using it on my face and tried other parts first, so I have only used it on my face twice. This was actually the whole reason I bought it though, as I do not enjoy growing a ton of face hair and being a girl. It's life and natural, but I hate it and it really messes with my self-esteem (which is already pretty low). When using the product, some sensitive spots or spots may still have hair sometimes have a small pinprick sensation for a few seconds. This isn't even that bad, especially since with razors I have about 2 days of burning. I would recommend a non-scented lotion afterwards as your skin can feel a little off. I haven't done a round without the lotion to see if it would get worse. Again, the slight discomfort or off feeling is nowhere near the pain or irritation caused by other products. Overall, I love the product and would recommend it for people with sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, and even coarser hair.

before you buy: pros and cons
so to start off i'm asian my skin tone is relatively on the light tan side, my hair isn't too thick at least on my arms and legs, but my hair on my arm pits are pretty dark and thick. another thing to add is i have never used a product like this before and so it's my first experience in an at home IPL. So starting off with the cons - i've been using this product on and off. i found it hard to be consistent because it does take a lot of time - if you don't shave all the hair off properly and treat an arena with hair that is still a little long it will hurt - like what all others have said this product does heat up considerably when in use for a long time but the crystal part that touches your skin would still be very cold on to the pros - i noticed it would always take to long to do my entire body so i made a routine where i would do small areas to start working my way through my body. so far its the arm pits that have gotten treated and i've noticed after using it for just 3 weeks my hair hasn't really grown back and it seems like almost as if i never had hair there in the first place. so id suggest if you get this it's overwhelming to do every part in one go, start in small patches and before you know it you will be hair free - it has great value for what it's cost. if you don't like waxing and pain this is the best option i believe there is for hair removal and it's permanent too. for like 200 or maybe less if you get it on sale. compared to in clinic treatments that could cost thousands i think this is the best option for if you hate waxing and can't afford long term clinic treatments. just down side takes a ton of time and routine. - and lastly this product does work, at least for me. so i think despite the negatives the price and the positives are still there. all in all i think its a great product that works for me and is worth the cost especially if you get it on sale. just pretty time consuming for larger areas. but it works so i'm happy with it 🤗

7 week update: I've had to keep using it 3 times a week. At this point I can see my hair still but it's growing so slow I dont have to shave it before the treatment today. I think this is actually going to work. The process takes alot longer then it's portrayed on social media but its starting to work. Hopefully I'll have enough flashes for maintenance going forward.... 4 Week Update! : Is all my hair gone...No. Is it thinner and talking longer to grow back...Yes. I'm going to stay at it doing 3 treatments a week. I will update you with progress. Treatment 1: Read all the instructions. Kinda scary at first. Felt like I could zap and blind myself! Glad to have the glasses. Felt like a mad scientist! Did a test spot and it was fine...no pain on any of the settings. Used it on my upper lip, armpits and legs and bikini line, no pain, the cooling technology felt nice and I never got over heated. I did smell a tiny bit of burning hair but the manual said that could happen of you dont quite shave all the stubble off. Excited to see results! Treatment 2: The second time went so easy I was cruising through and forgot and hit my scar I have on my knee. It's about the size of 2 quarters. Ouch that stung like a rubber band snap! Don't go over scar tissue areas! Otherwise the session went great. I changed direction of how I used it last time so hopefully I have even coverage. It was way faster this time and I thinking gonna like my new skin/hair routeen! Treatment 3: *yawn* super easy... ill update you later when I start to see results! A few treatments later: I still haven't noticed any result, but sticking with it. The unit does get warm by the end of each treatment. I use a micro fiber cloth to clean the lense each time.

Worked great on my legs and bikini line; didn’t work on my armpits and pubic area
It has been six weeks since I got the device and was using it religiously every other day. It indeed stays cold at all times and doesn’t hurt at all unless you miss a tiny hair somewhere so shave really thoroughly. It said that after 3 weeks 90% of the hair would be gone, well this is only when I barely started noticing the difference. I always used the power mode on legs. As of today, It’s been 10 days since I did the procedure last time on my legs and visually my legs are bold, but I can barely still feel some hairs on it which is fine. I did not expect 100% silky skin considering that I used to see and feel hoarse hair literally the next day after regular shaving. Great result here! Truly impressed! It also worked on my bikini line, the area that worried me the most (I’d always get immediate bad irritation after every time I shaved) however the pubic area doesn’t seem like worked at all. I also always used the power mode here. I expected to have just a couple of hairs left here and there like on my legs. Instead, I got only a couple of hairs missing when the whole situation stayed the same after six weeks, so no changes on my pubic area. I’m very happy that at least the bikini line doesn’t look irritated after shaving no more and hair noticeably slowed down growing and its quantity reduced so I’m grateful for that. My armpits also don’t seem like working. This is the only area that I used the body mode on since I was feeling the warm sensation when the pulse hit so I was afraid of going power mode over there. Even though the quantity of hair slightly reduced, it still grows back with the same speed. Also it said that you can do the whole body in about 15 minutes. Well only my armpits and bikini area were taking 10-15 minutes. Legs were taking me at least 45 mins and I mean just lower legs or just thighs. So if I were to do full legs it’d take me good an hour and a half. And meanwhile the device itself would get really hot (not the flash window tho, it’d still stay cold) so I’d have to put it away and let cool down for another 30 mins. So I chose to use the device on my lower legs and bikini in one procedure on one day and thighs and armpits procedure the next day. Each that procedure was taking me about an hour. So basically I was using the device every single day for an hour for the first entire month, which is a long time every day to dedicate, but I’m happy with the results on my legs and not very happy with the armpits and public area results. As of week 7 I continue doing my bikini/pubic and armpits every other day and really hope it finally works. I’m wondering how long I can safely use it on my skin every other day, but don’t think I will be exceeding two months of every other day usage. Bottom line: this device clearly works. I’m sure everybody’s complexity is different but this is what I got for $230 and to me the result is worth the price. However, if it still doesn’t work on the pubic area, guess I will have to commit to the salon treatment.

Just got it and it's as expected.
Ended up getting a refund. For me at least it just did not work. I was going to just sell the product, but Ulike reached out and offered a refund. I at first declined but on the second offer I decided to do it. They refunded me the same day I sent it back. You can't ask for better customer service. While the device was a fail for me, ulike is a company that stands behind it's product. If they ever release an actual Laser device I will be a buyer for that as this is solidly built and clearly not just a money grab. My skin type is pale white and my hair is dark brown to black, so it should have worked. But I am a little overweight and a AMAB person, so those both could have been factors. I'm leaving my old review under this for transparency and am bumping the score to 3 stars as even though the device for me is a one star, the company is a 5 star company. -------------(old reviews below)------------------ Had to change my score and decided to place this update at the top. I'm now ~ 2 months in and no change from day one. I have also noticed my hair growth has picked back up. It's like I'm doing nothing at all. I may as well use the flash on my cellphone. Perhaps my skin is too thick, who knows. As stated my skin and hair type are ideal as I'm about as pasty white as you can get and most of my hair is black to a dark brown with only a small handful of white hairs (perhaps 10-15). At this point I intend to sell this and use the money to buy a real laser hair removal device which pumps out vastly more energy. I'm likely to even go in for electrolysis. Sadly I have to say don't buy. ------<original review>--- Just got it today so I'll be updating this review as I go. But after the first treatment it's as expected. I'm pasty white with dark hair, so ideal for IPL. I first tried it on the back of my hand and did not feel a thing after 2 pulses. I then moved to my face, and specifically the upper lip. Now that one I felt. It was a fairly intense heat pulse that while a little uncomfortable was in no way painful. Think of a large fire and the feeling of the radiated heat from that, just in a small area in a quick burst. After use the area had a feeling like you would expect after a sunburn. Though now about an hour later it's mostly gone. I'm waiting a day to see if my skin is ok with it. I simply got tired of daily shaving and the pain if I skipped a day. If this works it will pay for itself after just 5 years of not having to buy razors. Sooner if you count in shaving cream. I found the Sapphire Ice-Cooling System interesting. It's very cold on the skin, so may be a shock on certain parts of the body XD. One second it's like holding an ice cube to the skin the next it's like a fire is lit and then near instantly put out. The device is weighty with an external 24v power brick. It's packed with needlessly fancy boxes and packaging. The external box you toss after opening is magnetically closed. I'd rather them use plain packaging and save some money. Time will tell though. I'll keep this review updated over the next 3-4 months. -----<Edit 1, day 3>----- Just 3 days in and I can tell this thing is just what I needed. After the first treatment virtually all hair growth on my face has stopped. I generally have to shave daily. Typically by the end of the day my face is already looking a bit dark. I shaved again Tuesday (Sunday was day one) though I really did not need it. Typically I can feel the shaver tearing through hairs and this time I could only feel a few. I just today did the second treatment and plan on not shaving for a few days. Can't wait to see the results. I have also started using it on other areas. So far no bad reactions. I did have one or two pulses that were a little painful but I blame that on hair from untreated areas getting in the way. -----<edit 2 ~1 month>----- 1 month in and really no change. I don't see any thinning of hair at all. As far as I can tell it's not killed one root. Hair growth is very slow compared to normal, but is it worth that for $375? I'll give it another month, perhaps two. I'm now thinking laser was the way to go as they are about 3-4x more powerful. Sure they cost more, but if they work.

Impressed with my results
I have been using this pretty consistently since I received it, and am super happy with the results I've seen so far. I love some good packaging, and ulike knocked it out of the park. The box it comes in has a nice soft feel to it and the way it opens makes it feel super luxurious. Inside the box you get a nice gray leather box that has a felt lining to hold everything in between uses, the device, cord, folding safety glasses, and a razor. The device has 3 levels of intensity or modes as they call it. I started at level 1 like recommended, but bumped it up after the first use with absolutely no pain whatsoever. The cooling effect works super well. The only time I had any pain, was when I got a bit too close and hit a part of my tattoo on my ankle. That only happened once, and was painful enough that I won't let it happen again. It didn't do anything to the tattoo. You hold the treatment button for 2 seconds to turn on the autoglide feature. With this on it will emit the light roughly every second as you move the device along your body. It's really convenient when doing larger areas like your legs. I find the claim that you can do your whole body in 12 minutes to be pretty out there. Maybe it's just me, but it takes me about 45 minutes to do just my legs. The area that actually emits the light is pretty small, and it's hard to tell exactly where you've gone over, so i try to really take my time and make sure I've passed over my entire leg before I move on to the next one. I didn't want any missed patchy areas coming in later. The device itself does get pretty warm after the 45 minutes, but the cooling effect works the entire time. I'm pretty fair skinned with dark coarse body hair that grows back super quickly. I'm talking I could shave that morning, and by dinner have stubble again. After just the first use I noticed (for me at least) a huge difference in the amount of regrowth. Definitely still there, but not as noticeable. For the first few weeks, I was using it consistently 3 times a week. In the instructions it says to shave, and then use. After the first week, I didn't always have to shave before using. Only when I had noticeable stubble. Once the holidays hit I fell off the wagon a bit and was only using it like once every week or two. Even with that, I can now go roughly 7-10 days without shaving my legs, and roughly 3-4 days for my armpits and bikini line. But now that we are getting closer to summer, I'm trying to get back into the habit of using it more consistently to hopefully achieve the results I'd like.

PCOS girls, IT WORKS!!!!
I have had several devices like this and they always took so long that it never seemed like I was making much progress so I eventually just got out of the habit of using them. After a couple of years the hair that I had made progress with started growing back in. So I dug out my devices and even though some of them were barely used, they we all dead. I’d seen this advertised a lot on instagram so I thought I’d check it out since it said it worked faster. I balked at the price and then thought that price might actually keep me using it. I’m a big girl with PCOS so I can’t do my whole body in one sitting. I’ve just been working on areas that are particularly troubling by to me. I am STUNNED!!! In less than 3 weeks, just using it 3-4 times a week, the super fast growing, thick hairs are all but gone. I’m already able to start on new areas of my body. Those other devices I had took months to be sure they were actually doing anything. This purple one works. I know they have a green one and it’s my understanding that it’s not as powerful. But I’m sure the purple one will work for anyone with light enough skin to use it. The device itself gets a bit hot if I use it for maybe 15 minutes but the part that touches your skin never gets hot. I use it on the highest setting and have never had any irritation of any kind. I do turn it off when the device seems to be getting too hot because I don’t want to take the chance of melting anything important in there. When I started, I was doing maybe 6”x 6” areas. Today I did my face, under arms, chest and and entire fat leg! It does work SO MUCH faster than the other devices, even on its highest setting which is supposed to be the slowest setting. I really expect to have this horrid hair problem that has plagued me for decades under control by the end of the year. Unlike the other devices, this doesn’t say how many flashes it has so I have no idea how long it will last but if it lasts long enough for me to get me to the place that I’m not covered in man hair anymore, I will purchase another to make sure it stays that way. I don’t believe these things completely kill the hair follicles since I have had regrowth from the other devices but after so many years of struggle, I won’t mind at all some occasional maintenance.

It’s working
This product has definitely garnered a lot of positive and negative reviews. I believe there’s a lot of people who are misinformed about how it works in general. It doesn’t work well on certain skin and hair types (blonde, gray, white hairs). It works extremely well for pale skin & dark hair which is, thankfully, me in this case. I would do some research on what skin and hair types do and don’t have success before purchasing so you’re not disappointed. I’ve also seen a lot of people saying they use it daily or multiple times a day. That’s a big no. I know people use it up to 3x a week. I don’t do it more than 2x. It can and will cause bumps, itchiness and irritation- especially on shins. It drys out the skin. You need to moisturize. I use every 3-4 days. Generally 4. I’ve noticed a tremendous change in a just a month. My hair growth has slowed so much. Especially on my lip, underarms and calves. I’ve always been a hairy girl. It’s time consuming especially if you’re doing several parts of the body. Make sure to use the eye protection- the flashes are bright. The unit gets super hot especially with prolonged use. Unfortunately it has to be plugged in but the cord is decent length. I use it on the highest setting and it doesn’t hurt majority of the time. Some spots (and it’s random) will have a pinch of pain but I’ve been using this thing in very *sensitive* areas and it’s pretty painless. Nothing I can’t handle. I know it’s pricey but it beats paying for treatments or being embarrassed. I think if you know what you’re going into you’ll be happy with the results.

Realmente funciona o aparelho.
