Ive always had a little torch to use for things. this one is the best. the button pushes for the different functions is super easy to learn. UV on this makes it the best. you can also swap the batteries out if you use them for a long time. very handy. will have forever hopefully......sad face. But started working again yay

I just wanted a small emergency flashlight for my car. But this one? It’s so bright AND magnetic, so they will definitely be stashed all over my house and in everyone’s stockings next Christmas.

This is a cool little penlight. The transition from straight to right angled orientation is very slick, and it feels nice in the hand. Recharging is done by removing the battery and plugging it into a USB-C cable. That means they don't have to build a USB-port into the flashlight itself, but the batteries probably lose a bit of capacity due to the charging circuitry taking up space. Construction is quite solid. My only real problem with the flashlight is has to do with the red light feature. To change from white light to red light, you have to press the control button for a second, during which time you get a flash of white light. Not great if you're trying to keep a low profile and maintain night vision. Also, there are no intensity levels for the red light -- it's quite bright. Good for navigating a path, but not ideal if you're trying to adjust the controls on a camera without disturbing other photographers. For the price, it would be nice if both the white and red lights had continuous dimming.

Love the swivel head and magnet on the end. After several months of use the switch tends to have a problem. Good value for the money.

I have been using my Nicron N7 flashlight for years. Nicron always provided me a very bright light. Now, as far as I can tell, this NICRON B74plus White/Red Light is the newest and perhaps, the bestest. Everything that makes Nicron flashlights great and useful are here in this B74 plus. It has the distinctive and extremely useful 90 degree rotating head that allows for front directional beam positioning. It has the very very handy and useful powerful magnetic base. Also, a strong metal clip for belt, shirt pocket or brim of a baseball cap. Two features, the powerful magnetic base and twist head are what sets Nicron flashlights apart. The magnetic base keeps the flashlight in place, on any magnetic surface and the head rotates to put the light where needed. This is the perfect optimal EDC, every day carry flashlight. I keep one on my desktop at all times and another by the bedside. These are for me truly an every day flashlight. I would never be without one, two and even three of them. These lights are perfect for every day carry, to keep in the car, on the desktop and the bedside. My original Nicron N7 looks much like this B74plus. But this B74plus is more. This flashlight comes with a 14500 rechargeable battery. This flashlight, as does the original N7, works well with a standard AA battery though providing perhaps, only about half or a third of the brightness. Still bright, very bright, but a standard battery provides approx 1.2 volts while the 14500 battery a full 3.7volts. So it is very nice to have the high quality, high power rechargeable 14500 Lithium Ion battery included. There is no charging port on the B74plus. The battery itself has a USB-C port for charging and must be removed from the flashlight for charging. No big problem, I just pop a regular AA in for the duration. Apart from an included 3.7v USB-C rechargeable battery, the B74plus ups the game with a beautiful distinctive high quality Camo finish over the very high quality aluminum case. But the biggest upgrade just might be the Red light lens. A red color lens is very handy for situations where a bright or even low level white light would disturb others or betray your position. Red light may also be very useful in times of distress. Handy to have as an option and may be well worth the few extra dollars cost. This B74Plus is very intuitive and easy to operate using the one main function button, that is comfortable, covered with a durable gasket, weatherproof and very responsive to simple presses. All the functions are easy to figure out with a few presses. Perhaps the lock feature, a long 5 second press to activate and another long 5 second press to unlock might not be obvious. However, the three white light options from High, Med to Low are just a press away. Easy. The Red light a slightly longer press to go from white to red and back again. Three quick presses in red or white color mode will active flash or SOS. But for perhaps the 5 second press to lock/unlock, you will figure all the features of the B74Plus by just playing with the light. This is a great, flexible high quality, super bright EDC flashlight. Fits well in hand and very very useful. This is a good useful, well made, well designed, weatherproof, fully functional light. Five Stars.

I own several lights from Nicron and they've all been great. I'm always happy when a light has a red light mode too to save my night vision. We often walk our dogs and run into critters like racoons and possums. I don't want to spook the wildlife and a red light really seems to help with that. Being able to quickly switch to white light for better visibility is a bonus. On high mode it's more than enough to see that possum high in the tree that is driving the dogs crazy. The swivel head gives it increased functionality. Switch to 90 degree mode and put it in your pocket for hands-free work. Or use the strong magnet on bottom. I thought I'd found myself a good little all-rounder light. Then my wife used it one evening. Now I no longer have this light as she 'acquired' it as her own personal light. So now I'm going to have to order another if I want my own. I guess that's the best recommendation possible when your wife likes one of your toys enough to make it her own.
