I had Achilles tendinitis which disrupted my very active life. I had difficulty walking. The doctor gave me exercises but it took months to completely heal. These lifts made life bearable. I was functional again wearing them, without pain or mobility impairment. There were a lot of expensive choices but I chose these for the good reviews, reasonable price, and flexibility they offered. For me they fit the bill, swapping between footwear (even slippers!). An easy to use solution that doesn't break the bank.

I have purchased this heel lift (singular- only one heel lift for those seeking two) multiple times because I have found it comfortable and helpful to work with a small leg discrepancy. However, despite not taking them apart- I use all the layers in my shoes- they fall apart really quickly, then you suddenly have multiple layers of a heel lift shifting underneath you while you walk- and if you walk a lot like I do in NYC, it's annoying and something more durable would be better. I haven't figured out which I like better (except for Dr. Foot that I use in my dance shoes that are sturdier, but a bit narrow for my regular walking boots). If you understand you're only getting one heel lift, and need a quick fix/support and aren't expecting longevity, then it'll do the trick temporarily.

These fit in shoes to correct the length of one short leg. Therapist recommended these. They have helped with my pain relief.

My mistake; I thought they were a pair (whose sells just ONE heel pad?!?). Still, others that I have bought (which are always in pairs) are still better than this one, and they cost less for two. I'll keep it as it is more trouble than it is worth to return it. But, lesson learned.

After seeing a physical therapist for a foot issue, she suggested that I might try a lift if the heel of the shoe that was bothering me. It did not take much of a lift in my exercise sneakers, which I wear most of the time. I am a fitness instructor and have one hip that is slightly higher, which probably caused the discomfort. Along with sleeping on the side where the hip is higher (which lengthens and supports the back on the problem side), the 16th of an inch lift provides a gentle and perfect amount of help. I prefer the shortest of the three separable lifts in my shoe underneath the Spenco Polysorb Heavy Duty insert that I put in every pair of fitness shoes I wear.

Short version: yes, I can recommend this heel lift. Just realize that there is only one. My doctor had said to use lifts in both shoes rather than be unbalanced with just one. With a strained Achilles tendon, the doctor recommended using heel lifts to relieve the pull on it. I ordered one set of another brand, which worked fairly well. Needing lifts for a couple other pairs of shoes, I ordered two "sets" of this brand. What arrived were two heel lifts, not four. It was my fault. Upon carefully reviewing the product description now, I found that it does say "...includes 1 heel lift". It did not occur to me that they would not come in pairs as others did, and my doctor recommended. Every other heel lift that I checked on Amazon come as pairs. So I give 3 stars because they work as expected, but not the 5 stars they would have earned as an expected pair.
