Very capable and powerful spotwelder.
This spot welder will spot weld 0.2mm nickel strip when set to power of 70 the power leval will go to 120 (120 gears) tops so should also do 0.3mm nickel without a problem. Warning, do not spot weld a battery without the nickel strip as it can burn holes in the battery and make it leak or catch fire. This spot welder has interchangeable tips as well which is good but must be left on when first using for 20 minutes to charge up to 5v minimum and will probably self discharge over days or weeks with no use but will see.The spot weld in the photo was strong enough to rip the 0.2mm nickel strip rather than break the weld and was done with a power leval of 70.Seems to be well worth the money as there are also identical spot welders with other names that are £120, this one was £85.87 as there was a 5% discount voucher on offer so would have been £90.39.You should not be disappointed with this one.

Fantastic battery spot welder, let down by dangerous power supply
The spot welder is fantastic having tested up to 0.4mm nickel, after a 20 minute charge I have got consistent solid spot welds every time, you do need to put some pressure on the welding tips the welding cables are high quality 6 awg wire. The downside to this solid well made unit is the supplied psu, first of all it extremely light weight, it feels like a plastic shell with a tiny circuit board, the plug socket design is not legal or safe, and the positive pin on the plug socket has snapped in transport.I read the reviews and purchased at 10a 30v variable psu at the same time as purchasing the welder and I’m glad I did!Overall worth while for the quality of the welder itself (I tested several models which were underpowered and just couldn’t get a solid weld before finding this one).

Good machine - very poor power supply!
When this spot welder arrived I was impressed until I opened the bag with mains transformer and flex. The plug has no fuse and the 240v cable is only 35cm long with something like 0.6mm wires. I fitted a fused plug to test the kit. It works just fine but I will replace the power brick for a much better quality one myself and bin the one supplied. This major defect aside, welding is a breeze, plenty of adjustment of power and timing clearly shown on the small display. Good quality welding cables and 2 pairs of copper pins.Shame it is let down by the external supply.

Great spot welder
Yes it can do 0.2 and 0.3 nickel strip with not a problem I bought a few other ones before this one and they couldn’t even do 0.15 properly.

Great item but don't use supplied psu.
Great item but don't use psu that is supplied with it. My first one started smoking hence only 4 stars while in use and damaged the welder so had to return. Reordered as the welder is very good but purchased another 5a psu and it works very well. Very powerful but you do have to wait till the capacitors are charged up.

Great spot welder but......
I read a review of an identical but slightly more expensive Seesii spot welder by BigBipper188 who was very correct in describing the 12v power supply as being marginally dangerous and probably illegal with its non UK 2 pin plug and incredibly skinny wire in the plug cable. On disassembly, one mains wire was found disconnected from the very small PCB!I used my own 12v power supply and can tell you that this spot welder really welds and quickly made up some cells with welds as good as original. The spot welder has two huge capacitors inside compared to most other cheaper welding sets which do take a few minutes to charge fully. The capacitors should give a much longer life and will have a greater power for the spot welds. I found a setting of 100 and 0.5 seconds to be optimal with the nickel tape supplied.Very happy with this product but the power supply is suspect hence only 4 stars.

A little weird but actually works
So bought this after trying two battery powered units and a diy relay, I have several tool batteries to overhaul and just didn't trust the weak welds from the units I've tried, thought I would give this one a go before I give up and get a KWeld, so their is the background. Now you have to power this thing to charge the internal "super capacitors" (actually appear to be just lithium cells) but boy it has some punch, I was able to fully weld 0.3 plated no problem with consistent good results. The 12V 4amp PSU supplied is super light, which usuallymeans nothing good ao i power it from my bench supply, oh and no UK plug adapter hence the 4 stars, the unit needs charged for about 30 minutes before use, the probe tips can disappear into the handles if you're not careful ( fill the probe with a length of suitable copper wire, that's what I've done to stop this) and when switched off led status lights are still visible inside the case through the air vents. So it's a little weird, but it works.Anyway I will tackle the remaining tool batteries over the next few days but so far I am pleasantly surprised with this welder.Hope this review is of some help.
