Does the job
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've got a pricey Fluke tester for basic network cable testing, and services like DHCP and DNS. But I needed something that could test POE without breaking the bank. This helped me narrow down two of three bad switches at a client when a POE based access point rollout was done. Worked great, and the price was absolutely low.

The best device for testing
This device worked as promised. I had to install a new surveillance camera but the mechanical room had like 1000 ethernet cables. This device helped me out to find out which cable was using the old camera

Decent tool but with a bad instruction book.
This cable tester gets the basic job done for a do-it-yourselfer. However, the unit has multiple ports each of which seems to perform a different function. Why not have one port do everything? It wouldn't be so bad, but the instruction book is essentially useless leaving you do do trial-and-error to figure the thing out. But, hey, the price was right.

VXSCAN Network Cable Tester
Price point and functionality right on target. I only use mine to check CCTV cable connections. Works and has been tossed and dropped in and out of my bag quite a lot.

Good value
Good tester for the money

Works for me
I’m an install tech for a local isp and I use this tool quite regularly its solid for the price and does most of what one would expect from a more expensive unit.

Low reliability and quality.
Good concept but unfortunately the lan analizer is not reliable and cheap quality

Works and reasonably priced, but…
The item that arrived had obviously been returned. The plastic wrapping that would have enclosed the item was stuffed into the bottom of the box and the unit was 100% charged. I would have returned it as I don’t expect to pay full price for a used item, but I needed to test some cable runs and didn’t have time to wait. It worked as it should, and allowed me to finish the job. I don’t return items that I have used unless they don’t function correctly, so it’s mine now. Three star rating for selling returned item as new.
