Samsung J5 Black UK Sim-Free Smartphone

With the new 2016 model on the market this was harder to find but having read reviews and compared the J5 with others it met my (high) expectations. Configuration was straightforward. An added and unexpected bonus is the ability to select 'outdoors' which brightens the display to a level that is easily readable - even in sunlight. Battery lasts well - 3 days or more but I only use it for occasional calls, email, text and a bit of browsing, virtually no downloads. Storage on this 8 Gbyte version is 75% used just by the standard OS and apps - I just wish I could find a way to remove those I don't need!

My first smartphone, having made do with an old Samsung phone that looked like a Star Trek communicator, and its a little gem. It does all I require of it, and has a fair selections of apps installed too. However, having used it for a few months, I find it just a bit too slow when using the internet, but for just under£140.00, I am not going to complain too much.

It might not be top of the range but I have no use for all the frills that an extra £300 might have brought. It does that I expected of it.However, whilst it arrive very promptly I was very disappointed to discover that the phone supplied was in fact for the Middle East. Luckily the warning that it may not work unless used for 5 minutes in one of the Middle Eastern countries was without foundation. It appears to unlocked for all areas.Having no Middle Eastern connections I personally I have little interest in Muslim public holidays etc (which it appears can not be removed) and was forced explore deeply on to its workings to find the European Holidays.

This is a major upgrade from my Samsung S2 which I'd been happy with for a few years. Nice size screen which is not as unwieldy as I feared with a bright and clear display. I hadn't realized how slow my old phone had become until I started using this one. Apps which had previously been slow to load or buggy were suddenly loading almost instantly and worked perfectly. If you are looking for a great value phone then I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better alternative right now.

Good stuff. Fast, decent ram although maybe 500Mb more should be installed. Screen is just fine, very good colours(better than any IPS I saw) and touch response, and seems solid compared to my previous cheepo china smartphone. GPS working very good, LTE works as harm :). I'll keep it for next 2-3 years maybe :)

Very satisfied with this product but I can understand the problem people are having with the dual simply version, best to check the product codes of both.

As one of the entry level budget smartphones this phone really is superb. It works really well, has a big, bright screen and is easy to use. The only downside is that it annoying comes pre-loaded with a load of unwanted apps, many of which can't be removed.

I'm rather new to Android phones and only bought the J5 on reccomendation from a friend. However, this phone is simply amazing and simple to use and perfect for those only starting out with using Android phones! Would definitely recommend to others.
