I have a large cutting pad at home, but I was taking a trip and didn’t want or need a large one on the trip. I decided to get this cutting pad, knives, blades, and ruler for the trip. In practice, this cutting pad was the right size for the trip and was the sturdy, protective cutting pad advertised. The ruler t, knives, and blades all work well. For model railroad work on trips, this is an excellent set and a great value.

I needed some of these to use exclusively for cake decorating. They work perfect for that but I want to note that they are much thinner than the Xacto brand knives so do not feel the same when using. They 'feel' cheaper, if that makes since. Like I said, they worked fine for my use but would probably opt for a more hefty feel for cutting more than just icing.

I liked this set because it came with a cutting matt, a ruler and very sharp knives. I was happy to receive all of the items in one package. I would recommend this kit.

This kit for the money was ok. But it was advertised as Xacto brand but packaged differently. It is a dupe. False advertising. The handles are flimsy. I love the self healing mat and ruler.
