Palmer POCKET AMP BASS Portable Bass Preamp (PEPAMPBASS)

I have used this live, its a great preamp to go right into the mixing board and getting big sound (not just the flat bass right in tone) I also use it at home to go XLR out into my audio interface, it is really great for EQ’ing. The fuzz/gain is pretty good too, it has a good compression gain so its tight and buzzing where i need it, not buzzy/peaking out. The headphone jack also makes practicing nice. I have stopper hauling my cab around and don't feel i have sacrificed tone

Fits neatly on my PT mini, plays nicely with the house system in my church. The aux and phones input makes this an awesome practice amp too! Literally take it anywhere! I like the built fuzz and od settings, however they aren't easily switched during a performance (if you use it as a preamp). So I use my mxr instead. This little puppy has AMAZING tonal range, and the "cab" selector switch only increases it. I prefer the "vintage" setting myself. All in all a great combo to keep on your board, or in your gig bag!

For the money, form factor, and amount of tone shaping available this DI is severely underrated. I only marked a star off on versatility because it only has a single jack for the effects loop requiring a TRS cable. I use mine 3 nights a week, 5 hours a night, and work crowds anywhere from 500-3500 depending on the night. 6 months in and it hasn’t let me down yet!

Bought it to use as a bass amp with headphones to avoid disturbing the neighbors. If the green light is on, you're on "wet off" and none of the EQ/effect/cab settings will apply. I wish I'd read more carefully and noticed that no charger is provided. Overall decent.

Purchased the Pocket amp to use as a DI for live shows. The whole band uses IEM's and doesn't carry amps anymore. I dialed in the sound for the DI at home and really like the eq and distortion sounds. Very warm and tube amp like. The main drawback I have is when I use it at a gig it ALWAYS starts buzzing. I have to unplug the power supply from the DI and wait about 10 seconds. Then it's fine the rest of the night. Kind of crazy... I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another or recommend the DI to pro players. I don't know if I'm the only one having this issue. Good luck!

Pretty much liking everything about this device.

I use this to practice bass guitar, without annoying my family. I can play at any time now. I don't use this to color my sound, but you could.

I got this for Christmas and has really come in handy for “silent” practice. The tone is nice and punchy!

J'ai acheté le Palmer POCKET AMP BASS principalement pour préamplifier ma contrebasse électrique, et je dois dire que je suis vraiment impressionné par ce petit appareil. Ce qui me plaît particulièrement, c'est sa portabilité : il fonctionne sur piles, ce qui le rend très pratique pour les répétitions ou les sessions de jeu en extérieur. Il est aussi compatible avec une prise secteur (non fournie), ce qui offre encore plus de flexibilité pour l'utiliser à la maison ou en studio. Malgré sa petite taille, il est étonnamment puissant et offre une excellente égalisation du son. Il y a beaucoup de réglages, dont certains que je n’ai pas encore totalement explorés, mais déjà, il me permet d'ajuster facilement le son à ma convenance, avec un contrôle précis sur le ton et la texture de l’instrument. Il ne prend pas de place et je l'emmène partout avec ma basse ou ma contrebasse sans aucun souci. Bien que le prix soit un peu élevé, je pense que c'est un bon investissement, surtout pour ceux qui recherchent un appareil de qualité, compact et performant pour leur instrument. C'est un excellent choix pour les musiciens en déplacement qui ont besoin de flexibilité sans sacrifier la qualité du son.

Hace su función bastante bien. Tiene 3 modos de emulación de pantalla que suenan bastante correctos y 3 modos de efecto: limpio, fuzz y overdrive. El fuzz la verdad es que deja un poco que desear y hace bastante ruido, pero los otros dos suenan muy muy bien. También tiene bastantes opciones de conexión que siempre se agradece, por ejemplo yo pongo los efectos de delay y modulación a través de la salida de Fx loop y me va genial.

i like it cause it works the way i need it to be and provides some flexibility kind of durable too cause we use it in church every week
