It just works if you have dogs and are fighting constant muddy paws
This stuff is not inexpensive but it a sanity saver if you have dogs that kill everything green as though it is their mission in life. Turfing my entire back yard with it cost thousands of dollars but it just works. It is high quality and stands up to 2 English Mastiff's and a German Shepherd daily. No adverse smells and the dogs have no issue walking and running on it. When you put it down you can obviously tell it is not natural grass but the look is much better than mud everywhere. Update - Grass is looking good. One thing I noticed is that grass germinates very quickly under these mats. JG Dense Shade grass was growing actively in 8 to 10 days. I would imagine it is due to the moisture retention the holes provide. See the last 2 pictures after 2 months. Could not be happier. Compared to putting down hundreds of dollars in seed just to watch it die or wash away twice a year it pays for itself. I have seeded under and over it and the it protects the roots while the plants get established. Seedlings stay in place and it controls erosion nicely. Grass does in fact grow through it nicely. Wish I would have found this years ago. The one critique I have for Grassworks is that local pickup would be nice for those of us in St Louis. (The manufacturer is 10 miles from my home) $50 to ship a 3 foot by 25 foot roll via UPS adds to the cost significantly when you are buying 20 rolls to complete a large project. I was told that local pickup is not an option but the product itself is fantastic.

We Couldn't Be Happier
If you’ve got an active household like ours — 3 dogs and 4 people constantly moving in and out — you know how quickly a KBG yard can get torn up, especially near the patio. That area has always taken a beating, and every spring it turned into a mud factory that the dogs happily tracked straight into the house. We put down Natura PowerRun Outdoor Artificial Grass to tame that problem, and so far it’s been a genuinely solid upgrade. What’s working well - Easy installation — We were able to get it down without any headaches. It’s lightweight but still feels sturdy. - Durability — With three dogs running across it daily, it’s holding up better than expected. No matting, no tearing, no weird wear spots. - Mud reduction — This is the biggest win. Instead of a muddy patch by the patio, we now have a clean, usable surface. The difference inside the house is huge. - Grass still grows underneath — Surprisingly, it allows airflow and drainage well enough that the natural grass below isn’t dying off. - Better than a bare spot — It instantly makes the area look cleaner and more intentional. Early impressions It’s not a full‑yard replacement — just a smart fix for a high‑traffic zone that was never going to stay healthy with dogs and people constantly crossing it. For that purpose, it’s doing exactly what we needed. Overall So far, so good. It’s durable, clean, easy to maintain, and a massive improvement over mud. If you’ve got pets, kids, or just a busy patio area, this is a practical upgrade that actually holds up.

Great product but Expensive
The product is great. Easy install and directions. Works as described after using for 2 months. I did have a few of the stakes break and it's very expensive.

It works!
This product actually seems to be working. My concern was the mud bowl my dogs had created in my small backyard. I followed the directions as best I could (age 72 with major back issues) and was able to cover the whole section by myself. I planted grass seed in all bare areas, which was about 2/3 of the space, and clipped the existing grass fairly short. Less than 2 months later, it’s already blended in in the sunnier portions and is coming along in those areas receiving less sun. My expectation is this blending in pattern will continue. The turf if stiff and not at all grasslike, and in the beginning my 15# dog was reluctant to walk on it. Within a few days, she didn’t give it a thought. My 25 pounder never was bothered by the texture. As soon as it was laid, my mud problem ended. I mopped my floor immediately afterwards and haven’t had to mop since. It didn’t look “natural”, but from day one, my yard looked better than all the dirt and mud that had been there before. And, it was green. Because of the natural grass growing through all the little holes, I’m not worried about this type of turf becoming too hot for little paws to walk and play on this summer. I’m also optimistic that when wintery, rainy weather returns, less of the grass will be worn away and that I can avoid the mud problem I’d been dealing with for years. This product is not cheap, but in my book, it’s worth every penny!

Pricey but it works! Grass will grow.
This was the best purchase. Pricey, but it works! We tried so may different things and this work!!! Small back yard with a run off every time it rained. Also two dogs who try to dig up everything. We put a few bags of topsoil to level everything out. Then we spread two bags of good fertilizer dirt, put the seeds down and put another bag of fertilizer soil on top. After that we intalled the turf. Super easy. Don't forget to water. Photos will show the success! Definitely recommend it.

Very expensive with no product support
I was very excited about this hybrid turf and unfortunately I am quite disappointed. The biodegradable stakes degraded within 24 hours leaving the turf completely loose. I had to buy all stakes that I will have to go an remove once the grass grows though. I had bought 3 rolls so I spent over $1,000 and I reached out to the seller and did not hear back. I would not recommend this turf based off the value and lack of customer service. This had so much potential but I would advise against purchasing. If I end up hearing back from the seller I will update my review appropriately.

Really works!
This stuff is great. Highly recommend! Wear safety glasses when you hammer in the stakes. Break up the hard ground before putting it down, add grass seed and let it ride! The dogs won’t change their pattern. This makes it so you don’t have to worry about the mud anymore!

Good product, but not the right solution for us
With 2 BIG dogs who run the fence line, our yard is now mud all along there. The dogs don’t like running on this artificial turf so although it works keeping the mud down in those areas the dogs are now making a new path along side them instead. For the cost we should have used artificial turf instead. It is easy to install, just too expensive for a product that didn’t provide a good solution for us.

Great Product for lawns that dogs use
This product was amazing. I have two labs and they tear up our yard, placing this product down and having the grass grow through has help keep a lawn from being destroyed. The only thing is if you do aerate your lawn you will not be able to do this with this product down. Expensive but worth it to have a lawn again!

Okay
It is just as it says but I find it very expensive for what it is.
