STAGE TO TUCSON (aka Lost Stage Valley) - DILENCIA A TUCSON
This is a Spanish DVD that easily plays in English (Idiomas - INGLES) without any subtitles (Sin Subs). This western reminds me why I love the genre so much. A simple plot - Rod is sent by Mr Butterfield to find out who is stealing his stagecoaches. He is helped by a boisterous Wayne Morris, and falls in love with Kay Buckley who helps him run the Line from Tucson. The second Unit direction and Stunts are by Yakima Canut and it shows. Spectacular chases, fist fights, and gun battles rage, and the dialogue is above average, and even witty at times (Wayne and Rod arguing about their respective ages - Wayne was 37 and Cameron was 41). The girls are different too and both Kay and Sally Eilers as Annie (a lady from Rod's past) score heavily. Villainy is taken care of by the reliable Roy Roberts. Listen to the voice of the actor playing Abrahim Lincoln - see if you recognise him - The DVD is excellent quality, terrific colour for the mainly location filming, with good sound. No English subs or extras. Honestly, if you love the perhaps more minor western, you should love this. Rod and Wayne make a terrific team. Recomended.

Terrific Western !
I was persuaded to buy this by A W Wilson's excellent review and I certainly wasn't disappointed. It's completely out of the mould, with Rod Cameron and Wayne Morris sparring with each other like a couple of kids, and making us laugh throughout the movie. Some serious bits too, with a creepy tone enhanced by the clever background music. Amazing Arizona scenery, which provides a spectacular background for the equally amazing stunt work. Gorgeous colour print and easy to switch to English without the Spanish subtitles. By the way, if you don't know the off-the-wall, tough but completely non-macho Wayne Morris, you might want to check him out in Andre de Toth's 'Ridng Shotgun' with Randolph Scott. This is currently available in a Randolph Scott Triple Feature.

Stage to Tucson
