I love this fountain! I originally purchased it because I already have a corded fountain downstairs, but I wanted a cordless option for my kitchen. The motion-activated feature really appealed to me because the water doesn't run continuously—it only activates when it detects activity, which keeps the water fresh. The biggest challenge wasn't the fountain, it was my cat. She's very sensitive to anything new, and when I first set this up, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. The fountain is motion-activated, so when she cautiously approached it for the first time, the sensor detected her and the water suddenly started flowing. That was enough to send her backing away in a hurry! She looked at me as if she was saying, "Did you see that?!" From that moment on, she treated the fountain with extreme suspicion and wanted nothing to do with it. For more than a week, I left the fountain out alongside her regular water dish. She would go out of her way to avoid the fountain, taking a wide path around it just to reach her old bowl. At that point, I was convinced it wasn't going to work. I decided to move the fountain to a location where I could keep it plugged in so it would run continuously. Even then, she avoided it for several more days. Then, on the very day I was considering returning it, she finally approached it and took a long drink. I was thrilled! That was the breakthrough we needed. Since then, she's been using it every day. I'm gradually moving it toward the location where I'd prefer to use it in cordless mode, and I'm hopeful she'll eventually become comfortable with the motion-activated feature as well. Baby steps! As for the fountain itself, I'm extremely impressed with the quality. The water reservoir is generously sized, which means less frequent refilling, and the design looks like it will be very easy to clean. I haven't needed to do a full cleaning yet, but I appreciate that it comes with a small brush for reaching all the little corners and crevices. What stands out most, however, is how incredibly quiet it is. In fact, I can't hear it at all unless I'm standing right next to it. Even then, what I'm hearing is just the sound of the water flowing, not the pump. If you're looking for a well-made, nearly silent fountain with the flexibility of cordless operation, I highly recommend this one. Even if your cat is a little suspicious of new technology, don't give up too quickly—mine eventually decided it was worth the risk!

I bought two fountains a year ago; they worked great! I love them! Cats love them! So I have to at least give it a three, but the company's customer service deserves a one!!!! They do not back up their product as they state, and they took way too long to deal with something pretty simple, and it was never dealt with!!! After a year one fountain just stopped working completely. The other fountain still is working great. I bought a new pump and it still wouldn't work. I followed care instructions to a tee. In fact, it does take commitment to maintain these fountains, and it is time consuming in a busy schedule. The filters are too expensive; I change mine weekly! I sent customer service receipts, pictures, detailed explanations, and even spent more money ordering a new fountain. I have two cats and like to have two fountains, and graduating to three. They did not replace their defective fountain. They sent more emails asking for more pictures of their pump taken a part. I had tried three different pumps in this fountain, giving them detailed explanation; and the fountain still would not work; it was defective. It was ridiculous! That correspondence took over two months of back and forth emails. With all I sent them, and all I've spent, they should have definitely backed up their product and mailed me a replacement fountain for their defective fountain. So WARNING about their commitment to back their products up. The fountains are really nice when they are working well. They do take care and maintenance though, so do take that into consideration. My two I have are great and working strong, but while they are working great I am researching other companies and options. After this experience, I don't think I will choose to continue with PetLibro. The pricey filter maintenance too is a strong downfall and consideration. Just sending out a WARNING after my experience with their customer service and lack of backup for a defective product.

This is an almost perfect fountain for me and my 2 cats. I love how much water they are both drinking now and that is the most important thing really. The reason I took a star off was for a couple of minor reasons... The first reason is I can't see the water level in the tank at all, and I have not been able to consistently rely on the indicator light to tell me that the water is too low. I have the fountain set up under a little table for my cats because that's where it works for us so if I need to check the level before my weekly cleaning and refill I have to move the table, I'd really like to be able to get a visual instead. Considering how much they are drinking now, I'm ok with this minor inconvenience even though I shouldn't have to be for the price I paid. The second reason I took off the star is for the reliability of the sensor while the fountain is placed on the floor. When I have the fountain unplugged and the unit placed on the floor my cats were not always able to get the sensor to turn on the pump and have it start to curculate. I read that sometimes placing the base on a little mat or something will resolve this issue but one of my cats does not allow those and will scratch and pull any type of mat out from under her food or water dishes and create a huge mess for me. So I have the fountain in the front room now on the carpet and we have no problem at all with the sensor. After using the fountain for a bit we decided to leave it plugged in and let it keep circulating because it is getting them to drink more, and because it is so quiet and the one cat who was so skittish around every other fountain we have tried in the past was totally fine with this one. There's no splash to scare her! The deal I got when I bought this came with the filter replacement parts and for some reason the little black filters are quite different than the one that was in the original fountain. The replacements are very thin and porous and let more particles through. I'm going to be contacting PETLIBRO about this because I'm not the only one who has noticed this and I would like to know why. As far as cleaning, it's so easy I feel like I'm forgetting to do something!! I absolutely love the ease of the unit and that makes me almost as happy as seeing how much water my cats are drinking now! Bottom line, no battery in the water... Cats love it... I love it! Great fountain! ❤️

It saddens me to make this review but I feel that others should know. Two of my 3 cats absolutely love this fountain and drink tons of water from it (the other is a toilet bowl drinker so he doesn’t count). It’s quiet, sleek, and pretty easy to clean. Unfortunately, it’s only been 6 months and it will no longer work. We leave it plugged in constantly and the light no longer lights up and no water comes up the spout. We have tried troubleshooting for days with no luck. Our last petlibro fountain did not last very long either. Not worth the money to last 6 months. We will have to switch companies :(

PETLIBRO Cat Water Fountain, Cordless Pet Water Fountain Review I’m very happy with this PETLIBRO cordless cat water fountain. It’s quiet, easy to set up, and the cordless design makes it convenient to place anywhere without worrying about cables. My cat took to it right away and drinks more water now, which is great for their health. The build quality feels solid, and it’s simple to clean and refill. The water flow is gentle and consistent, and the battery life is impressive. A great upgrade for any pet owner looking to encourage better hydration.

I am a skeptic when trying new products. I bought it for my Yorkie because despite daily cleaning, I just didn't like what got into her water bowl. I fill it with bottled or filtered water. The fountain operation is very quiet, si I keep it plugged in. Her water seems fresh and she is drinking more water. It requires at least weekly cleaning and the filters do trap a lot of stuff. The parts do get yucky, so clean it as directed. I wish that the parts were stainless vs. plastic and rubber. The only drawback is having to order filters now; so that will be an ongoing expense. And the pump when it finally wears out.

Pre-washed all the pieces before assembling -- unit is easy to put together. Comes with a tiny brush to help with routine maintenance cleaning that is recommended bi-weekly. Filters are easy to install but should be pre-soaked to reduce tainting the water. Our cat was initially put off. (I would recommend cycling water for 2-4 hours, then rinsing the filters and fountain again to clear any lingering "flavor".) The 2-piece configuration with power and inductive pump motor is a great configuration. You can remove and refill or service the upper water container and not worry about having the electrical portion exposed to water: i.e. the water basin sits on the power/electromagnet base and can be removed separately. The inductive pump motor sits in the water basin and pushes water up the outflow spout above to serve your cat. The sub-pieces of the water basin and pump can be removed and separated for cleaning then reassembled. The unit is silent -- not just quiet as compared to our previous cat fountain. Even the outflow from the spigot falls so quietly that it seemed to unnerve our cat. It took several days for him to get used to using it (which included the use of treats to get him close to the unit). Because the proximity switch makes him jumpy as it starts when he gets close, we've opted for continuous running -- continuous flow only occurs if the unit stays plugged in. The unit is smaller than expected for 2.5L but works well for our single cat household. The base will alert you with lights when it needs to be recharged (if running on battery) or if water level is low. Very nice unit and highly recommended

I and my cats love this fountain. Easy to clean and very quiet. The first time I changed the filter I could not get the top part off. When it did come off the bottom part came loose from the water tray. With much fiddling I managed to sort of keep it together. This last time the gasket broke and I couldn’t get it to hold together. Customer service has been amazing and is sending me a replacement top. I did learn to scan the code on the pump for cleaning instructions and it’s a must. I didn’t realize that it disassembles and you can clean it down to the barest level. By the way I bought a second one a month after the first and so far the top has held together - so it wasn’t all operator error on my first unit. I would absolutely but this product again.

Such a good water fountain. Our cat hasn't had any issues with drinking water since switching to this fountain. Easily to take apart and clean as well. Just follow the cleaning instructions listed and you'll be fine. Filters water well with the provided filter that needs to be replaced every couple weeks.
