It works great
Received fast, found drivers on github (adafruit_drivers_2.5.0.0), installed WinAVR (AVRDude), connected it to atmel studio to program right from ide. It works great for me. No hassle, programmed dozens of atmega328 already. Enjoying... Good thing this programmer can power target with 5V and 0.5A, so I don't need to connect battery to circuit.

bad cable
bad cable. two pins shorted together on 10-pin connecter. removed bad connecter since I only needed the six pin connecter. now works works well.

Don't bother with Chinese stuff!
Works perfectly under Windows 11. Check the Sparkfun page for driver details. I used AVRdude with AVRdudess as a front end. Flawless. ISP AVR now programmed in situ :)
