Great Classic
J R Miller has a way of putting over inspiring thought within a few sentences. Ideal little devotions for each day, especially if you’re pushed for time or travelling. He was another great stalwart of the Christian Faith who produced much fruit for Christ and I highly recommend all his writings. Thoughtful, inspiring, challenging and encouraging! Something for everyone.

if you struggle with the bible....read this every day
I found this little book in a library of a main house which had a camp site we stayed at, Trewan hall in Cornwall, it was a leave your books and take one you fancy type of deal, the library big window let the warm summer sun in and I picked the book and sat in a big leather chair...read it cover to cover, brought it home and have read a daily entry every day since I was twelve.....im now 57 I still have the book but getting dog eared so have now got electronic version on my kindle. never get tired of advice.....always relevant, endless inspiration. simplifies the bones of faith. my lifes constant companion.

Man-centred. Of limited value as a devotional. No Scripture references.
Vague and humanly-helpful thoughts. Not a scripture to be seen anywhere in this book. This seems peculiar for a publisher like CFP, who are usually very Bible-centred. Author is a USA Presbytarian from just over a century ago. A prolific writer - none of his titles are known today (except perhaps this one, because people will buy Daily Reading books even when their contents are of limited value).
