Great Upgrade
I love this new sprayer, I've owned several wagner sprayers and this is a great upgrade. I do a lot of higher end fabrication and art sculptures and was looking for a sprayer that could handle the high quality clear acrylics as well as the direct to metal acrylic / latex paints...this sprayer works great for my needs and would highly recommend it to that semi-professional painter

Great DIY Spray Gun Once You Learn Its Sweet Spot
I used this spray gun to restore vintage metal lockers using industrial alkyd enamel, because I wanted that smooth, high-gloss finish you see on original lockers and automotive-style finishes. After several coats, some light sanding, and a little trial and error, I finally dialed in my technique — and the last two coats came out looking fantastic. The lockers honestly look brand new. Pros • Much more affordable than the $600–$1,200 spray guns I was considering. • Capable of producing a very professional-looking finish once properly adjusted. • Worked well with industrial alkyd enamel. • Great option for DIY metal refinishing and restoration projects. • Once you find the right material-flow setting, it is fairly easy to get back into the same range each time you use it. • Very pleased with the final high-gloss finish. Cons — and How to Address Them These weren’t permanent problems with the gun for me — they were mostly learning-curve issues that became much easier once I understood how the gun behaved. • There is definitely a learning curve. What helped: Spend 5–10 minutes spraying cardboard before every session to practice your distance, speed, overlap, and paint-flow setting. • It’s easy to create orange peel, a spotty finish, or uneven coverage at first. What helped: Adjust your distance and pass speed, then make small changes to the material-flow dial until the paint lays down evenly. • Too much paint can cause oversaturation, runs, or drips. What helped: Reduce the material flow slightly and/or move your passes a little faster. • After disassembling and cleaning the gun, it can take some trial and error to find your previous setting again. What helped: Once you find the sweet spot on the paint-flow dial, mark that position with a black permanent marker. You may still need a slight adjustment each time, but it gets you very close immediately. • Thorough cleaning after every painting session takes some time. What helped: Buy a few extra small paint-gun cleaning brushes or pipe cleaners. They make cleaning the smaller passages much easier. My Biggest Tip Once you find the perfect dial position for the amount of paint you want released, mark it with a black permanent marker. Without a reference mark, you may have to hunt for that sweet spot again after cleaning and reassembling the gun. The setting may still need a tiny amount of calibration each time, but I found that it stays very close to the same range. Also, don’t skip the cardboard practice. Spending 5–10 minutes before each painting session dialing in your distance, speed, overlap, and material flow can save you from having to sand out orange peel or runs later. Overall I spent hours comparing spray guns because I wanted something affordable that could still give me the professional-looking alkyd enamel finish I was after. I went back and forth between guns costing roughly $600–$1,200 and finally chose this one, which was somewhere in the low-to-mid $300 range when I bought it. Overall, I’m extremely pleased. Once I got through the learning curve, the final coats came out smooth, glossy, and professional-looking. Highly recommend for DIY metal refinishing if you want professional-looking results without spending professional-shop money. Check out my before and after

Big bang for not many bucks
Bought this to paint all my lousy pressboard kitchen cabinet doors, drawers and faces. I watched several videos, read through all the reviews, and settled on the Earlex 5700. Admittedly, this is my first sprayer (I am old school brush and roller guy) however the learning curve was simple (watch the videos, and read the manual, however light weight it is) and then go for it. The pump itself weighs nothing and seems cheap as heck but if it lasts a few years that's all I can hope for at this price point. I put several gallons of Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond primer and Emerald paint through it with excellent results. Do pay attention to the flow rate (the primer needed a fair bit of cutting while the paint needed very little) and DO BUY FILTERS and filter your paint! (I was shocked to see chunks / flakes in my primer and lost a day of progress because of it.) Do NOT let the gun sit around for hours between coats - clean the needle at a minimum - and when done, be vigilant about cleaning the gun and all parts thoroughly. Near the end I could do a thorough cleaning in about 10 minutes.... The canister that ships with the gun I bought is only for paint, not varnish - you will need another one for that which isn't coated. Only con so far is that the canister interior coating is already scratched and seems kind of cheap but time will tell - still works great so far. Also, don't be like me and NOT tighten the gun down AFTER you decided which way you want the intake tube pointing. I didn't and it started dripping / leaking from the seal and made a mess of the gun and my work - live and learn. Once I figured that out, cleaned the entire gun, got my direction/angle right all was good. One other pro tip - the surgical tubing from the gun to the canister comes lose so I put some small zip ties around each end to hold it in place. Overall, 10/10 would buy again. Makes painting surfaces with odd angles / faces / profiles pretty simple.

Compete garbage
Run, do not walk, away from this sprayer. This is the WOOOORST sprayer. So many regrets buying this. Paint splutters every time. Flashing on projects. Doesn't matter how clean it is or what paint you use, or how much you thin it. Worst purchase. Ever.

Good spray with one warning.
This is a good upgrade from one of the mostly plastic one-stage sprayers. But the way the hose attacked is just kind of silly…it’s just a stick on situation. It comes off too easily and with all the pressure of the air it goes flying around damaging your carefully prepped and sprayed items. I took to literally holding it together while spraying out of fear it would destroy my hard work again. It should Screw or clamp somehow. Otherwise it’s a great sprayer.
